I don't mind as much after seeing the trailer, seems like they tried to combine elements of both retro characters and modern characters to get this stuff.
Course in Knuckles case they didn't combine elements as much as combine everything to get 200% muscle bro.

Yeah but I'll wait till I see it in action. Like I hated both of them from that picture but after the trailer, and especially after I saw Eggman's redesign I was much fonder of the redesigns. They both emulate a bit more of the older designs, with Eggman seeming slightly 'rounder' and Sonic's lines being somewhat softer and less edgy. Tails also looks younger as well I felt.
So I ain't gonna put Knuckles down just yet. Plus I love Knuckles, and this looks like a show without Shadow so far which means he'll be back as the TRUE rival of Sonic.

Also apparently doesn't know how to use his Tails to fly out of crashing jets from the looks of things.

The gameplay looks pretty cool based on the trailer. Can't say I care much for the music, though.
