Vincent was still in the small sitting room, playing on his acoustic guitar. Due to the fact that he's wearing a shirt, he wasn't bothered by the chill.

"Hmm... This chill gives me some motivation to play another song." Vincent told himself as he began playing a song called Miracle on the Crescent Lake.

"Kids? Kiiiiiiids?"

The familiar jovial voice of Basil echoed through the halls to his children's ears. Welcome or not? They had fair warning if they wanted to run away or anything.

Not that they would from their beloved parents.

Asher shrugged in response to Violet.

"I brought some books and my Walkman. I also brought some spare work I can, well, work on to keep up with my studies. Other than that... no, not really. I guess I can learn how to..."

He glanced at the bodybuilding magazine Mickey had gifted him earlier.

"... build up my biceps. Or my glutes. Fascinating."

He quietly sighed, wincing at another crack of thunder. And then, he heard Basil's voice calling out from a nearby room.

"Ah, hell..."

"In this family, we look forward to the future. We don't have funerals, we have celebrations! Live in the now, darling!"

"Yes mother. Sorry mother," Bertram replied, cowed.

After Gloria had left, Bertram returned his attention to Mickey. Being scolded had waylaid him, but he'd been quite surprised when Mickey said he was trying to live independently of the money he'd given him. "I'll be frank here. I didn't think you were someone who could get by on your own: I'm actually quite impressed. I... can't say I agree with your way of life, but that's why we've gone our separate ways, I suppose. We clearly live in different worlds. Yours is one I simply cannot fathom, but... You're working hard, I think, in your own way?

"You're right about James, though," he continued wearily, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Just earlier he asked me to invest $10,000,000 in his father's dead company - $10,000,000! Even you only got $3,000,000 when you left, and yet here you are now, making do even without it... I can't believe I'm saying this, but perhaps he could learn a thing or two from you. Though I'd be happy to help if he'd just take business seriously..."

Mickey was saved, perhaps, from more business talk by the arrival of his mother. "Ah, Jackie. Have you calmed down now? I think perhaps we're long overdue a talk about all this. I'm sorry for upsetting you, but you must understand, I still think I made the right decision. Don't let me get in the way of your love if you still want to be with him, though."

Asher had definitely taken interest in what Violet was discussing before their father called out, and nodded in agreement.

"Me neither. Guess we'll just... I dunno, grin and bear it, then."

Basil's head peeked around the corner where he spotted his progeny reclining in comfort. "Ah there you are! I've been looking about, I almost forgot how many places there was to hide in this mansion. Hehehe takes me back." He chuckled going over to join them, hand in hand with Wyn.

As they walked, Zachary casually talked about the mansion, pointing out things he remembered about some of the rooms, though Robin probably heard the stories before - he was just trying to pass the time. Each time there was a flash of lightning, Zach winced slightly. Storms made him nervous. He's seen firsthand what small arcs of electricity can do; he could only imagine what giant bolts stretching from the ground to the clouds might--no, he must put the thoughts out of his mind.

"How are you holding up, dear?" They were coming to a figurative crossroads: He could hear faint acoustic guitar music down the hall, and the image of Vincent strumming and plucking away entered his mind as he smiled, but the dining hall also wasn't far away from here. Also, even Zach could hear Basil's call for his kids, though they hadn't seen them on their walk.

Asher narrowed his eyes at the two hands intertwined with one another, but didn't really make a comment on it. He did take notice of his father's sincere look, though.

Violet tries to force a smile, but fails. The signs of disinterest are too clearly visible by now. "It wouldn't be my first choice at all, no. It would be pretty far behind, dad, but it's still a vacation. This weather is nice, too."

"I don't think you'd have brought us here anyway, if it were up to you."

Basil smiled warmly as Violet called him Dad.
"Hey, well thanks for coming anyway. It's not all bad...I see uh...your cousin got you some interesting gifts." He said eyeing the bodybuilding book.

"I'm hoping the family drama calms down a little bit. I think it's a bit...tense right now, what with Billy and Mickey...some of the staff aren't...as skilled as Archer too." Basil said choosing his words carefully.

He shook his head "Still we'll get over this, once this storm is done, I'm sure the island will look beautiful and we can take it in for it's full beauty."

He squeezed Wyn's hand. "I'd love to take you around and show you all the nice little nooks and crannies of this island once things blow over."

Robin found it nostalgic, listening to Zach. On their first date, Zachary took Robin on a tour of the manor just like this one, with the same stories. They had wound up in one of the sitting rooms and just sat together, talking about everything and nothing until the sun came up. She had seen the same tour a handful of times since, and even if she still couldn't always find her way around, she had memorized the stories. Robin could never tire of them.

She didn't realize until he asked her how she was doing that she had unintentionally taken the lead, gently pulling him toward the faint sound of guitar music.

"I'm good!" She grinned and gave his hand a small tug, heading for the music on purpose this time.

It didn't take long to find the source. Robin watched Vincent from the doorway for a moment, torn between wanting her and Zach's presence known and wanting to avoid interrupting the guitarist. She made up her mind, leaned against Zach with a contented sigh, and waited for Vincent to finish his song.

"Heh. Well honestly, I think all of you could learn a thing or ten from me." He said the words quickly, and moved on just as quickly. It was clear he wanted to just make his point and not argue on it.

He grabbed his mother's hands as she sat at the table. "Hey, Ma. I just want you to know that I'm doing okay. I think I was just born in the wrong life, but leaving was good for me. I'm happier than ever. And I really mean that, when I feel things now, I really feel things. I'm present. And... I'm not gonna be sticking around. I'll be leaving for good once I take care of something, but that can wait. For now we can just enjoy this."

The Letter and Last Will

[SCENE MUSIC]

A deafening crack of thunder shakes the quiet halls of Moonview Manor. A brilliant blue light flickers across the faces of everyone in the manor, as lightning strikes a tree not even a hundred feet from the front door.

The flash lights up a sealed envelope with the Moonview Family Insignia on it, lying face up in the entrance hall between the parlors. It's in such an obvious place, and yet, it was only just discovered.

On the face reads "To Forsythia" in beautiful, flowery, calligraphy.

The silent little envelope has leaves the distinct impression of being from a story or something. It's almost unbelievable.

Vincent enters the foyer along with Zachary and Robin after they have a nice chat about music. The musician even got to play a song for them to listen to.

The moment he see the envelope lying there on the floor. "Hmmmm...?" Vincent said as he went over to pick the envelope up from the floor. "Did someone drop this?" Vincent asked Zachary and Robin before he reads what was written on the envelope. "Who's Forsythia? Is this someone in our family?"

"I'm going to go take a walk, if you do not mind." Violet says, getting up and leaving her book behind. "Look after that for me, please."

She sets off in the hallways, eventually coming across Vincent and the others. Curious about what they were doing, she taps the shoulder of the first in line. "Hello?"

Then he heard Violet says that she have an idea of what the envelope is. He turns to Violet. "You have an idea of what this envelope is?" The musician asked the young lady.

It was a very nice chat, over way too soon. A nearby crack of thunder ramped up the tension dramatically as the trio examined the envelope in the entrance hall.

"AH!" Zachary jumped away from the voice, but then looked in the direction it came from and spotted Violet.

"O-Oh, it's just you, Violet. Hi. We just found this thing ominously sitting here. No clue for whom it could be - I know no 'Forsythia,' though I admit that is a lovely name. Maybe it's been here for years and nobody ever noticed it? But that doesn't make sense - the staff here aren't that unobservant . . . " Zachary had no idea why he was thinking aloud. He just kept his hand firmly clutching Robin's as he stared at the unusual envelope.

“Yes, the family drama was... less than ideal. But, well, it’s the Moonview family, so I was kind of expecting it.”

Asher stood up and stretched his back out a bit.

“If you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go study and then sleep. Don’t want to fall behind in school.”

He nonchalantly turned around and walked off, a small scowl forming on his face as he thought about Wyn and Basil’s sweet-talking with one another. On the way to his room, however, he noticed a commotion and decided to go check it out.

“A... letter? Weird. Where’d it even come from...?”

Archer lets out a sigh after briefly looking for Bertram, and giving up, approaches Zachary.

"Sir Zachary... I... regret to inform you that..." Archer leans in close, lowering his voice and speaking quietly in Zachary's ear.

"Your mother, Milady Gloria, has passed away."

Archer takes a step back and gives Zachary some space. "I intended on informing Master Bertram first, but I believe that all of her children should know..."

After Vincent carefully opened the envelope, he slides out the contents which were... some papers.

"Huh. Just some papers... Hold on, there's writing on them. Is this a letter to this Forsythia fellow? Maybe we can find out who this Forsythia by reading this letter. Let me see what were written here." Vincent said as he reads the letter out loud for the others.

It was painful, how hard Zach was squeezing Robin's hand. And the way he was speaking... Something was very wrong.

"Honey?" All thoughts of the mysterious Forsythia vanished from Robin's mind, replaced with worry. "What's going on?"

Zachary's thoughts were whirling, the mysteries of the envelope thrown right out of his mind.

"N-No, I don't want to believe it without seeing it with my own eyes. Mama can't be d-d-d-" He couldn't bring himself to utter the final word. "W-We just saw her not a half hour ago. I can't-"

Zachary's body threatened to collapse into a heap on the floor.

[THEME SONG]

Vincent can't help but open the letter and take a glimpse at its contents. The paper seems to be stationary from a study somewhere in the mansion. The corners of the page have red smudges on them. The entire page is in beautiful black calligraphy which is very over-the-top and challenging to read.

Madame Forsythia,

Your fate is here.
You plundered the Moonview forest for your own.
You, along with others, sent our brothers to their death as they defended their sacred grounds.
The wealth of your progeny is tainted and will never bring happiness, only madness.

To stop your suffering at your own hands, simply repay us for the ill-gotten fortune.

Repay or you will regret.

Twilip arrives in the entryhall with a still full wine glass in her hand and an apathetic look on her face. Her mouth opens as if she were about to say something, but she doesn't say anything as Vincent reads the letter aloud.
