"In any case, it's still weird how this letter even got here. Unless it was here the whole time and no one noticed it until now. And it's odd that Grandmother often talked about the Golden Land, and now, we get a letter from the Witches of the Golden Land. ... Hmm."
He looked over to Zachary as he collapsed.
"Shit, is he alright?" he asked, an alarmed look in his eyes. "And... did... something happen to Grandmother?"

“Zach?” He dropped Wyn’s hand and raced to his brothers side to help support him.
“What’s wrong with him? Is it his heart? He always had a weak heart.” Basil muttered hurriedly as he felt his forehead for a temperature. “Briggs can you bring me a wet towel for him. Maybe a small sugary snack too.” He asked off-hand.
Taking a moment to take in the scene he noticed the odd amount of people gathered here.

Bertram is taken by Archer upstairs to Gloria's private study, some of the others chase after them.
The room is lit by a single lamp, leaving most of it in darkness. Gloria's personally prized possessions are on display throughout the room. Important financial documents are filed in a desk in the corner by the window. The room is just as how she would have lived in it.
Rain can be heard coming in through an open window, splashing onto the carpet.
A large cushioned chair, one far too big for Gloria's tiny body, sits facing the window, away from the door. Lying next to the chair is an unfinished plum and the book that Mickey gave to Gloria.
Archer gestures toward the chair.
As Bertram approaches, he can the hand of his mother hanging off the side of the chair. It looks pale, small, and fragile.
Her slumped, unmoving form leans back in the chair. Her evening gown and night sunglasses cover her.

He gasped as icy daggers surged into his heart at the realisation and fruition of his dread feeling earlier. Tears filling his eyes as he dropped Gloria's hand in shock and turned away to the window she had been gazing out of. His head spinning, he clenched his fist and raised it to his mouth, biting down on his knuckles to stop himself from crying out as he just stood there, shaking and trying to comprehend what was going on.
Eventually, he composed himself enough to utter a question.
"A-Archer...when did you notice this?"
