"D had a diary page on her. I'll read it out loud:

""He's mad...this has gone on for far too long.

Jamie, used to be such a kind man but his time in SSF broke him. I can't say I blame him, mutilated and tortured would drive anyone mad.

At first it was fantastic, we explored our newfound powers in peace, as a Scientist I'd say it was thrilling if we weren't being hunted all the time. As it went on though...Jamie got worse. It's been hard caring for him, life hasn't been easy. Moving every couple of days, but with Jamie's new powers it was...almost fun. Being one step ahead of the game, having a chance to rub it in SSF's face. We were never short for money either. Being able to observe timelines allows you a lot of opportunities to make money.

It's just too much now though...he's grown a bit more independent since he hatched this plan, probably because he doesn't trust me I think. He developed a new power yesterday...I need to go along with it now.

He wants to find himself a new body...something to cure his 'condition'. With the Morphogenetic field, one can send their thoughts through time and space to another individual. This was the first basic power we shared. The second one was that he could examine his consciousness in other timelines...swapping perspectives temporarily. I recently discovered first hand that he has extended this power to other individuals in the current timeline. The other night...he tried to control me.

It's a strange sensation...almost painful...replacing your thoughts with his own...swapping perspectives, losing control. Fortunately he didn't go through with it the whole way...it was just a threat really. If he can't control someone else with this plan then he'll need to control me and live that way. So I can't do anything about it...I need to help him.

If I can just resolve this then I can cut ties with him...leave this life and start living for myself. Danny has been a constant help through this...I don't think I could have done it without him. I don't really want to risk him being involved with this but I might need his help.

I'm going to analyse the data and choose targets for Jamie tonight."

My best guess would be that Jamie is Vii

"I disagree." said Dry. "I'm glad you brought this to light. Makes me glad you could find that while D tried to steal from me. I think Jamie is the Coffin Man. The 'condition' he was referring to was... well, whatever the hell put him in that wheelchair and stole the use of his arms. Something SSF did to him during their experiments, maybe. Maybe a congenital condition. I don't know. But it's clear, now, that whatever the goal of Jamie was, it cannot be achieved now, right? The author of that diary page knows it as well."

"...I was hoping to keep this to myself, at least for the time being. I wanted to hear Vii's explanation from his own mouth. Vii may have killed Neo to protect the outside world from the madness of the Coffin Man. Because what I said before wasn't quite right." he continued. "The being known as 'Jamie' passed his consciousness to Neo before he was killed. Which means it was actually Neo (in Jamie's body) that was incinerated... which is not a way I'd like to go. This means that when Vii killed Neo's body, he likely destroyed Jamie as well."

"Another thing can be gleaned from that-- which I'm sure everyone has figured out." said Dry. "The 'chosen targets' are us. Well, most of us, anyway. Which means that the person who wrote this diary page is Zero, or at least the Zero that was responsible for bringing us, specifically, here. Jamie is the reason that we're all here. Jamie was to choose one of us to switch bodies with, to be able to live outside the coffin. With that task complete, he incinerated his own body so that Neo couldn't get out to confirm this story. Jesus, if only we'd have figured out the caesar cipher in time..."

Once everyone was seated, the metal cuffs clamped shut on the participants wrists binding them to their chairs...all except for Queens.

"Right thank you for cooperating...please pay attention. There are no more phases or basic actions. Your only duty now is to undergo trial."

"In a moment you'll be required to undergo trials...all except for Queen. The one that wields the Gavel decides what is Just after all. You will be each be given 6 trials and for each one you fail to solve...you will be penalised. So if you fail each one..."

"You WILL be killed."

Everyone gets one of both kinds of votes and can CONDEMN or REDEEM different individuals at the same time...of course not voting is also an option..."

"Yeow!" D screamed as she awoke from her slumber. Luckily for her, the shock made her wake up to hear the judge's explanation. D checked her bracelet to see how many lights were on there.

3 lights.... D considers herself lucky, but then then remembers that she and the others have to undergo the 6 trials. She frowns at that thought.

"Ant and I both knew Queen is Zero. Queen just told us about, well, almost everything when we were in Room 3. We didn't want to tell you this until now." D said as she shots an look at Persephone. "I have stuff I want to say to you, but not now. Later, okay?"

D then looks at Bishop and said, "Yeah, that diary page was inside the filing cabinet. Queen and I both lied about that, ehehe... But, putting that aside.... Yeah, it seems like everyone knows why we were brought here."

"Simple," Vii shrugged. "I'm Danny Demaine, the 'Danny' referenced in that diary page. Queen is my mother. I came here to help her get out of this mess. She told me early on who Jamie was, but I had to feign ignorance since I didn't know if anyone else was working with Jamie, and if he suspected any funny business, he would have taken Mother's body instead. Really, killing that bastard in his sleep was better than he deserved."

"Say whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?" D stammered, shocked by the revelation that Vii just made now. "You're the Danny mentioned in that diary page?!"

D then looks quickly at Queen. "Would that make you be Mrs. Demaine, Queen?" D asked. "But, why? Why put your own son in this game that we're playing? I don't understand this..... Not one bit."

It's as simple as it seems. I needed someone to watch my back and get the items I needed and whatnot.

I probably wouldn't have been able to control this game without him.

"Ok, lemme get everything straight"

-The diary page was written by Queen. It was found in Door 3

-Queen told D and Ant about all this in Door 3. Queen's been working with Zero

-Zero is dead. But who was the real Neo?

-Queen, you must've known who Ant and D were. Why did you trust them during this game?

-I now realize the person who saved you was Jamie, but then how did Persephone survive the game too? Didn't you say everybody in the game died?

-What's the true nature of SSF? Why hold the death game? Were the experiments run on Persephone separate from the death game?

D thought about what Vii and Queen said for a few moments... Then she realized the grim truth that was standing there before her.

"IDIOT! I'M SUCH A IDIOT!"

"I'm sorry for the outburst... But Queen used me and Ant as pawns in her plans! When I got the diary page from Ant, I just have to ask Queen about one thing. I asked her if she knew who Jamie was, but guess what her answer was?

She said no. And she said that I should keep it to myself. She also didn't say who her "boss" was, just talked about how Neo was the host for her "boss".

Thinking back on it now, I should have made the connection that Queen was related to Jamie. That and Jamie was the boss that Queen talked about." D said as she looks at the others knowingly. "I'm really sorry, guys. Ant and I were played for fools..."

D looks at Bishop and spokes out to him. "No, Jamie isn't Zero. Queen IS Zero. She admitted that to both me and Ant in Room 3. Ant can backup my claim. Right, Ant?"

"It sounds to me like Jamie organized all this to find one of us as a suitable host and brought Queen along to help. So Jamie's the one who set everything up while Queen was strong-armed into helping him." Bishop shrugged and shook his head. "Anyway, D, can you tell us about yours and Ant's connection to Penta? Is she security, a robot, or what?"

"No, Jamie didn't kidnap us. He couldn't, because of his condition. Remember the condition that we found Jamie in? Or what was left of him, anyway." D said, still remembering the burnt body. "It have to be both Danny and his mother who kidnapped us. It would make sense, since they need arms to do all the work for Jamie. If a armless person tried to kidnap you, would he success? The answer would be no."

D went quiet at the question about Penta. "I.... I do not know Penta. She is a completely stranger to me." D answered Bishop's question.

Similar to you, he was some kid with esper powers. Michael Adams, I believe was his name, if it matters.

JesusMonroe wrote:

D could communicate with me telepathically. Ant was handcuffed so his options were limited. Plus I could go through the door with them. Plus, I figured they were both having difficulty in this game with getting allies.

JesusMonroe wrote:

This was never in its entirety an SSF experiment. I made up that story to explain why I knew things. I had to save Jamie and Persephone on the same night a long time ago. I used to work at SSF, and Jamie was a great friend there. We didn't know about the experiments at first. One day, Jamie didn't come to work. He had been snooping around for the truth on the experiments at that time. Anyway, he was able to tell me how to break him out of the facility where he was experimented on.

JesusMonroe wrote:

Uhh, SSF is actually really messed up, like we've been saying all along. Persephone was just part of some experiments at SSF.

Rioichi Cooper wrote:

Depends on how you look at it. Jamie planned this, and I built it and engineered it. If all Zero means is "the person who programmed the AI and kidnapped you" sure. But if Zero is "the malevolent force behind the nature of this game", I'm not Zero.

"...so why are we still here? I get why you'd want to round up some espers, parade them down here like cattle for Jamie-- to save your own skin. I might judge you, but I understand it." said Dry. "But now he's no longer a threat to you or. What point is there of continuing this farce? You want revenge against Sharpe for the guy that almost took over your mind that badly? That you'd risk our lives? The lives of the kids that SSF had experimented on? Your own son?"

"And who was the tenth man? Why was he here? Was Bishop right about someone taking his place in the game after killing him?" asked Dry. "... if so, was it Penta who took that guy's place?"

"Hey, I'd like to have a mystery cleared up. It's about the handcuffs." D said, as she tried to readjusted her glasses, but the metal cuffs on the chair prevented her from doing that. Instead, she pouted, wishing she could readjust her glasses.

"Queen told Ant and I that the handcuffs were the Room 5 item. First, the dining tables have the safe, so that would means that the handcuffs were either at the guard post or the serving area.

The only people who searched the serving area and the guard post were....

Neo and Vii.

Either Neo or Vii found the handcuffs and used them on Ant. But considering that Neo is now dead.... That would means Vii is the only person who might knows something about the handcuffs."

D then looks at Vii and said. "What do you have to say for yourself, Danny? It would be wise if you could be honest with us."

"Thank you for being honest with us, Danny. This clears up that mystery." D said. "The reason that I asked you to be honest with me is because in a courthouse, you are expected to tell the truth. If you were discovered to be lying, you'll be charged with perjury."

"Also, Danny, I'd love to tell you what my actual real name is, but I'll save that for later, okay?" D told Vii before she looks towards Dry.

"Dry, when you searched Neo's body, did you come across a key? A key that looks like it could unlocks a set of handcuffs?" D asked Dry.

She turns her body towards Bishop as far as possible - not being able to move properly makes her obviously feel uneasy.
"You always made a big deal about how suspicious everybody else was, so maybe it's time to return that "favour" and wonder about who you're supposed to be. For instance, your family's background seems to be rather interesting."
