'Mickey' was crying throughout the story but sobbed as it reached its conclusion. "Meemah was a special soul. To write in such detail about us, so vivid, it was like I was there! Like I stepped in a different reality. I actually believed Pops was a good father for a moment, she really fooled me. Though I gotta be honest, the pacing was kinda crap and there ain't much of an ending either. But she had some true talent."

Lucine took a teacup and sat down on a nearby chair, taking a few elegant sips. "Regardless, this story did contain some odd elements. Uncle James being a serial poisoner, father being immune to witchcraft..."

She stared at Bertram for a few moments with a glint in her eyes, apparently really considering that. "... Could it be true? I would consider grandmother an expert on the subject, so if she wrote about it..."

As Zachary grabbed a cup of tea for himself and his wife, he became lost in thought for a few seconds.

"Um . . . it's strange. I recall something untold from that story . . . before I 'died,' I tried to investigate Wyn and Allister, but . . . didn't learn anything from it. Why I feel the need to tell you guys that when it was just a story, I don't know, but . . . there it is."

He sat back down next to his wife and handed her her cup. He held it out and toasted, "To a long and prosperous life!"

“Yeah, I sleep like comatose baby knowing I not get killed tonight,” Uncle Billy replied, “Huh? Why I say that? Obviously this just story and will not repeat itself again. You get idea. Anyway, can’t wait to hang out with new family tomorrow in living person world!”

Still feeling pumped, Uncle Billy went around the room and attempted to high-five the purely coincidental combination of Robin, Briggs, and Violet.

Vincent takes a cup of tea and carefully take a sip of it.

"Well... Actually... This gives me an idea for a new song... But first... I just need to finish this song that I was working on. Speaking of which..." The musician said as he sips his tea. "How did Auntie Gloria know I was working on the lyrics for the song that I'll be dedicating to my lovingly family? And how did Auntie Gloria know the names of my wife and kids? It's a bit creepy, if you ask me. "

Robin bit her lip. Apparently Bertram wasn't here. Odd. She could have sworn...

... Well, it didn't matter. She could talk to him later.

"How... how would you know..." She shook her head. "Never mind. Thank you, dear." She took her cup of tea with a warm smile and toasted along with him.

Right at that moment, Billy approached with his hand up.

"Um -- oh!" Robin fumbled with her cup to free her hand and high-fived Billy.

"Hm... This is... nice, in a way," she said, leaning her head on Zach's shoulder. "I hate that Gloria had to go, but... she really would have wanted us to celebrate her life, you know? So I'm glad that we can do that for her. And that we can all be together like this."

"Well, don't worry, I'm not going anywhere," Briggs smiled, kneeling down to match Allister's hug. "I'm too sneaky to die as quickly as I did in that dumb story, right? I mean, I do nothing around here, and your dad doesn't seem to..."

Briggs paused for a moment.

"...Anyways, let's not worry about that."

Asher went over to a conveniently placed chair and took a seat, letting his cane lean on him for support. He gently blew on the tea before taking a small sip of it.

"... I have to say, me coming back from the dead and attacking Allister of all people was a little... freaky. Just weird that those... 'witches' didn't use that ability more, but whatever. Just a story, anyway."

"Woooooo . . . " Zachary moaned, letting the steam from the tea soothe his senses and calm him down, though he still felt quite tired, "Y-Yeah . . . Mama's death. I guess I was quite out of it since I found out about it. But seriously, it feels like so much time has passed . . . but, with me being in such a fugue state, it's no wonder the story felt so real to me. A-Anyway, yeah, she would want her life to be celebrated, and . . . and I'm glad we can all be here to do that, too."

He held up his cup once more and repeated his toast: "To a long and prosperous life!"

"R-Right!" Allister nodded. "It was just a silly story, after all!"

Hearing Asher speak, Allister shot a quick, nervous glance at him.

"Um..." He mumbled.

He continued to stare for a moment, before looking away.

Asher noticed Allister stare at him before suddenly turning away, causing him to let out a small sigh.

"... Allister, I assure you that I won't hurt you, alive or undead or... anything. Nothing to get yourself worked up about, okay? It was just a silly scary story."

His voice was a notably lighter and gentler tone than his usual deadpan, uninterested tone. Well, he was talking to a child, so... yeah. Good job, Asher.

Twilip looks very confused at this statement, but doesn't look direct at Zachary.

Jacqueline nodded and too raised her cup of tea. "Touche!" She beamed, lowering her arms as she took another sip. She really wished she could give everyone a hug to reassure them and make sure they were well, but hey. That was just childish of her, was it not? She thought that perhaps she should just keep to herself for now, drowning in her own thoughts.

Basil closed the book with a thump a concerned look on his face as he clung to Wyn with his other arm. He looked down at Wyn, surprise and concern evident on his face as he looked around the others.

"Well...it all felt so real telling it but...was that really just an immersive story?" He glanced out the window of the manor where the storm was presumably still continuing. The ominous feeling in the pit of his stomach was back. "And I wonder what that final magic symbol means. The two crossed canes?" He tapped the book to his chin concerned before placing it back on the table.

"Well mother certainly had a very violent depiction of me eh?" He joked wrapping both his arms around Wyn "I can't say I wouldn't be driven to madness without you Wynnie-poo." He said rubbing noses with his wife.

He chuckled and looked back down at the book "Didn't it seem like something else night have killed Zach at the end though? His manner of death was so different it makes me wonder...I wish we knew what the ending actually was without the missing pages."

“... Mhmm. No problem,” Asher simply replied to Allister, trying to keep his tough guy persona up. He turned his head only to see his father sweet-talk and eskimo kiss his wife. At this, he cringed, let out a small, disdainful groan, and immediately averted his poor eyes.

Basil smiled at James "Hah! Mum didn't take a very kind look of you did she? Portraying you as a murderous, money-grubbing fiend!" He sipped his wine glass.

"Good thing it was all fiction."

Vincent looks between James and Basil's kids.

"Is there something that I should know about James here?" Vincent asked, an eyebrow raised. "Seems like I'm missing out on quite a lot of drama in the Moonview family, huh?" The musician shrug his shoulders.

"Still, there was one thing that we never found out in addition to the story ending on a cliffhanger... Just who is Forsythia? We never did found out who Forsythia is... I guess she's still a mystery, after all..." Vincent add on as he sip on his tea. "Her name was mentioned in the story, right? But, the problem is... There's no one in our family with that name..."

“Sound like name of drag queen,” Uncle Billy said, nodding to himself confidently. “Maybe Barty have wild double life you all not know about, though not sure what that have to do with witches.”

"Oh, um, it's not about that." Robin's face was rather red by the time they made it to the guest reception room.

She squared her shoulders and faced him, though she was clearly struggling to look him in the eye. "I - owe you an apology. For what I said last- um, what I said tonight, at dinner. About you and Mickey." She cleared her throat. "I got carried away. It was - out of line, and it wasn't my place. So. I'm sorry, Bertram."

The point went right over Lucine's head as she nodded along. "Witch hunter blood... I wish she could have told me more about it..."

"I'm sure it's nothing," Bertram said, trying to be reassuring while neglecting to mention that he, too, felt the same. For some reason he had the distinct impression that 'no-one followed me on the last twilight', even though the story mentioned no such thing. He wasn't about to tell anyone that though, magic was nonsense after all.

"Yes, let's return. They were talking about the will as we left, I hope no-one's started a fight." He finished the rest of his drink and moved to leave. "Of course, if that story really was written by Gloria, then the details of the will might have been accurate too..." Without really realising it, he sped up, starting to grow concerned.

As Robin left him, Zachary began to feel a bit uneasy - that story really hit him hard, it seems; learning about Gloria's death must've amplified his emotions - and immediately attempted to make conversation to distract himself from the thoughts that whirled about.

"It's quite peculiar that the author of that story was able to describe some of my inventions with perfect clarity," Zachary explained, "I guess Mama really did pay attention during my demonstrations, though I expected nothing less, heh."

Turning to Vincent, he felt the need to mention, "Um, we found the letter 'for Forsythia' before we even started the story, if I recall. Also, I . . . hope your family is doing well." He recalled the part of the story where Basil gave him the message from Vincent, "Even though it wasn't the real you that entrusted the guitar to me . . . I still want to thank you. We'll get through this. It's just a bad storm, right . . . ?" He turned back to the rest of the room, a slight pleading look on his face.
Thank you for reading. I hope you have a wonderful day.

“It’s funny. I haven’t been here in years, neither has Uncle Maurice or Cuz’n Vincent. Yet we’re all in this story. Even people I’d expect to be in it like Anton and Alice are absent. The only characters in the story are the people here today...” He ominously smiled.

“The world is never as simple as we hope it to be, and there’s much more going on than we could ever observe. Our gathering here today must be fate. It was prewritten, and Meemah could read the pages. Whether any of us are witches, that remains to be seen.”

"Yeah, Zach. My family is doing fine when I left to come here." Vincent said, nodding his head in response to Zachary. The musician recalls a section of the book where Zach asked if anyone know what his family look like and mentioned the family photo. "Oh yeah, since you were wondering what my family look like. I have a photo of my family which I kept inside my wallet."

Vincent removes the wallet from his pocket. Then he opens it and takes out the family photo to show Zach. "That's my family, Zach." Vincent explains before he point at each person in the family to explain who they are. "That's my wife, Lucy. Isn't she beautiful? Anyway, moving on... This one's my eldest daughter, Carrie. And that's my youngest daughter, Kim. Finally, this boy's my son, Drew."

Apparently, Vincent held the photo out long enough for Zachary to memorizes the faces of the musician's family. Once he felt that enough time have passed, the musician puts the photo away in his wallet before he stuffs the wallet back into his pocket.

"Anyway, yeah... We'll get through this storm, somehow..." Vincent said, the expression on his face was a mix of sadness and concern. "My family must be worried about me as I was away for longer than expected."

Maurice looked away, clearly disgusted by Mickey's repugnant behaviour. "Hard to believe he's even related to his father", he muttered under his breath.
