Spoiler: The Prison Floor
Image

(Note that images used are purely for flavour, please do not attempt to look for clues or consistancy in any picture I give you.)

The wind howls through the cracks in the building...

It's cold. The metal bars of your cells hurt your skin as they are frozen to the touch. Outside your cell, dim blue lights cast an unearthly glow across the floor, providing just enough light to make out the large empty prison floor. Piles of rubble scattered around the room indicate that place hasn't been used for a long time. A large computer console sits against the far wall, looking decidedly out-of-place with the rest of the decor.

Leaving your cells you spot 8 other people to yourself, also emerging from similar cells to your own. Everyone looks quite confused and you look at each other in silence for a moment.

Just when someone is about to speak...a bright screen flickers to life above the console.

Image
"Hey...

How's it going?"

The voice echoes off the walls, it's timbre relaxed and gentle. Everybody looks dumbfounded at it for a moment, the strange skeletal head on the screen took no heed of this silence and continued on talking.

"I guess probably not very good all things considering. You all look mighty shocked but it's ok...I understand. Facing death is difficult right?"

Image
"Never the less, it's something we all need to do. Something YOU need to do today. For the betterment of your fellow man. Ultimately all man is guilty...or something like that. Either way you have all been brought here..."

Image
"....to be Judged,"

You shiver slightly, whether from the cold or this bizarre message you are not sure. Everyone remains silent.

Image
"But that will come later, for now you should probably introduce yourselves to your fellow inmates. It is always more fun to play a game with friends after all."

With that note the skeletal head disappears and the screen falls silent again, the only remaining sound in the room being that of the wind howling through the cracks above.

(Round 0 is purely a roleplay phase, there will be no abilities, items or anything used in this phase. Next phase change should be around Friday Midnight GMT)

A moment of silence passed before a woman, about 36 years old, finally spokes. She is wearing a t-shirt with a picture of a panda bear on the front, normal jeans, and green slip-ons. She wore a pair of purple-rimmed glasses. One can tell that her hair color is silver, because strands of hairs are poking out from underneath her pink beanie. Her hair seems to be shoulder length, from the look of it.

"I know we probably do have some questions on our mind, but I'll ask them now to save you some time.

First question: Where exactly are we?

Second question: What's the deal with the bracelet/wristwatch that I'm wearing? I don't even remember putting it on."

To proves her points, she held out her wrist for everyone to looks at. On her wrist was the mysterious bracelet/wristwatch. The number displayed on her bracelet/wristwatch is... [4].

A man of no more than twenty years spoke up.
"I seem to be wearing a bracelet as well."
He extended his left arm to reveal a bracelet clashing with his otherwise indistinct appearance.
"Mine, or the bracelet that bonehead thing gave me, appears to have a [1]. Should I assume the rest of you have bracelets as well?"

"That is likely so." A new speaker replied. He was the oldest so far, a 49 year-old man with greying hair and sharp blue eyes. His clothing stood out against their unfriendly surroundings, with him wearing maroon evening robes over a light beige shirt and simple black trousers. And to top it off, a pair of slippers. He looked irritated, likely at that fact.

"My bracelet is the number 6." He continued, showing the others his watch. "And as for where we are... I know nothing more than can be gleamed from observation. I was kidnapped, you see; I assume this is a similar situation for everyone?"

"Did you just said.... Kidnapped?!" The woman said, shocked by what the 6th player just said.

"Yeah, I was kidnapped. By a stranger in a raincoat and gas mask. I would assume everyone saw their kidnapper, right?" She inquired, as she readjusted her glasses.

"The same thing happened to me..." said a crew-cut man in his mid forties. "Man in a creepy-ass gas mask gassed me and that's the last thing I remember. Still, I have a hard time believing he was working alone and was able to get me all the way here."

He was a tall man, built like a brick house. He looked like he was once athletic, but age was catching up to him, with a bit of a belly seeping into what once may been considered "ripped abs".

"Speaking of which, just where in the hell are we? I have a bracelet with the number [3], but I can't get mine off--" he turned to [1], "Hey, kid, are you any good with Smart Watches? Can you get this thing offa me? I prefer analogue."

A young looking, shirtless man looked around him. He was somewhat lanky but nobody could also deny that he was reasonably fit. Yeah, that's the right word for it. Reasonably. Undeniably above average, honest.

He wears gym shorts and is completely barefoot as well. His hair is blonde and hazardously greasy, as if he overdid it with gel earlier that day.

'Well, uh this is embarrassing." He says, flashing a shy but also somewhat devious smile. "I didn't see my kidnapper actually. Just some white gas and then I'm pretty sure I knocked almost immediately." He rubs his head and winces. "Ugh...might've given myself a concussion.

Anyway, what should I call you guys?"

The man with the [1] bracelet replied: "I don't think we should just give out our real names, but I suppose we need to refer to each other somehow. So I guess you may refer to me as Neo." (Don't actually refer to me as Neo)
"But I do remember seeing a gas mask and some white smoke. Must have been some sort pf knock out gas. Ugh, who the hell do they think they are, taking me out of my own... home..."
For a brief moment, a wave of fear ran across the man's face. As if it were an automatic response, he slowly pulled the hood from his gray sweatshirt over his head.
"Apologies. I need some time to think."

(In the other Nonary Games, we referred to each other by codenames. Sometimes someone might call you sumguy but I'm probably gonna call you Neo)

"Heh. Codenames based off our numbers? Lame." The man smiled, trying to indicate the Neo that he was just being playful. "I suppose that'll help keep track of who has what bracelet, though. In that case, you guys can call me Bishop."

"Codenames sounds good. That way, we won't have to tell each other our real name." The woman said, nodding her head in agreement.

She thought for a moment, deciding which codename to settle on using.

"D," she declared, "You can call me D. D is the fourth letter in the alphabet."

Number [3] unsuccessfully held back a laugh. "Wow, kid. I thought I had it bad, but at least Mr. Gas Mask left me my clothes." he glanced down at his teal button-down shirt and casual slacks. He then turned to address his new companions, "Look, I don't know any of you. Normally I'd be fine to be all chatty, but, you know, we've all had a day and I'm not of a mind to trust any of you. For all I know, one of you is Mr. Gas Mask. So why don't you just call me 'Dry'? After my sense of humor, you understand."

The older man nodded, taking note of Dry's words.

"These lights are a needless gimmick to go with our numbers, I would imagine." He then said. "It would be pointless to speculate until we have further information." After that he shrugged. "Not to downplay your comradery, but I have no intention of going along with this skull person's nonsense more than I have to.

"Ah, but as for my name, please refer to me as Ant. It's short." His logic was that ants had six legs, which seemed as good as anything else.

(Sorry, I'm bad with references. What do Dry and Ant have to do with 3 and 6? Is it cause Dry is 3 letters?)

(Dry is a homphone of "drei", which is German for three. I assume Ant is 6 because ants are insects with six legs, but I could be wrong.)

(That makes more sense than what I thought. I thought it was because the Chimera Ant arc was the sixth arc of Hunter x Hunter ;-; )

"I ain't one for games. Prefer books myself." said Dry. "Although I wouldn't mind playing a round of 'Let's Get The Hell Out of Here'."

After a brief pause, he turned to the underclad boy. "By the way, Bishop, right? What number's on your bracelet? You never said."

"Does anyone know where we a-----ahhh!"
A young girl of 17, standing awkwardly with everyone else, manages to trip her way into a conversation, until caught by a fit shirtless guy.
"I uh...hi." She awkwardly breaks away from him, and continues. "I have no idea how I got here, saw the same masked dude, uh...." she trailed off.
"Code names, uh, I'm...I can be Persephone..."
She looks back at Bishop. "You...Bishop stems from bi, making your watch say...have a two on it."
Persephone was a tall, brunette girl who would have striking brown eyes, if you ever got to see them behind her enormous beanie. She was wearing several layers, yet still shivering. Her boots, clearly too large for her, made it clear that her tripping was done for a reason.

Bishop rolled his eyes. "Yeah, my bracelet number is [2]. It took a while to think of that name and some brat was the only one who could get it?" It's clear he's trying to play tough but he was unable to hide his blushing.

"So if you're Persephone, then you must be [9]?"

"What could the kidnapper possibly wants from a young girl like Persephone?" D continued, "I mean, look at her! She's just a kid!"

A woman paces up and down the rubble strewn corridor. Her footsteps don't make any noise due to her taupe mauve slippers. She stares intently at the doors that they had been sealed in and peers into the shadows, looking for something that clearly isn't there. Finally, she approaches the group which had been chatting.

Up close, they notice that she is taller than first impressions gave, and she holds her head very high. Another thing they didn't realize is that she's strikingly beautiful. Her facial features are soft but come together in exactly in the way they should. Her hair flows in streams of wide curls pouring from her crown. She wears a lavishly heavy, dark violet-red bathrobe. It looks like it could save one from hypothermia in the arctic, and the thick collar rests across her broad shoulders, emphasizing them. The robe is untied in the front and the others can see distinctly that she wears a full set of silver silk pajamas.

As she approached, she had a look of contemplation, but as she meets the eyes of the others. She smiles and sighs.

Don't worry, I heard what you were talking about. I was listening. So code names is it, then? I guess that's a good way of keeping track of everybody without revealing too much.

That's really smart. I guarantee if I had been the first to talk I would've done names and occupations, but I think that's a really good idea. I already feel a little bit like even now, I'm talking to some people who, if I really knew what they did, I would never want to talk to. This is definitely something done by someone who has a perverse idea of fun.

That really creeped me out, the message over there I mean. What was it saying? That this is some sort of judgement day thing? Anyway, it's stupid right? Obviously judgement is gonna come to the one who put us all here anyway. I certainly haven't done anything wrong in my life, but I'm not about to leave those behind who have.

Anyway, I'm sorry, right. My bracelet number. I've been thinking really hard about the best way you should refer to me, and I don't necessarily think this is the best way of putting it, but I'm number [8] and I would like to be referred to as Queen. I swear I thought of it a second before Bishop said anything, honest. It's because queens can move in eight directions on the chessboard. Plus, it is certainly flattering.

Nice to meet all of you. I was just looking for a way out, but I couldn't really find anything. Let's get along for now, then, we're probably going to have to cooperate.

A tall woman approaches the group, slowly, but straight and without turning her piercing grey eyes away. The rather warm, grey overall she is wearing emphasises her slender, but muscular build. Her grey boots look heavy, but somehow, they don't make any sound on the floor. Her red hair is tied up in a short ponytail. Without looking at her face, you could maybe call her pretty, but the expression on her pale face looks like it was made of stone, or of metal. Somehow, the big bracelet on her wrist doesn't look out of place at all. The display bears the number 5.
"You can call me Penta, that's short. If someone of us gets into trouble and has to call for Persephone, it probably would be over before you could even say "Perse-". Nothing against your name, but for me, surviving this "game" is more important than aesthetics."

Hello, Penta!

Queen turns to the towering newcomer.

Yeah. That's the feeling I'm getting as well. This is a game, and we need to communicate well as a group.

But... at this point, it sort of doesn't matter? We can't exactly say anything in this tunnel without everyone hearing it immediately.

At least we know nobody is hiding any secrets.

Queen's clothing put Ant at ease. Shirtless man notwithstanding, it reassured him that he wasn't the only one who'd been taken while so vulnerable.

"I have to agree with Penta here. If you don't mind, I'll call you Perse from now on; think of it as a nickname." Ant finished his sentence with a smile at the agitated girl. "But as for secrets... I'm afraid we can't be that naive. Once again, I have to stress that we know nothing about our current situation, and that includes about each other."

"Err.... Right, it seems that we're quite.... a odd group, that is." D said, taking note of Penta's and Queen's presence.

"So, it looks like the 7th is the only player left who haven't said their codename..." D commented, as she brushed a few loose strands of hair out of her eyes.

She then looked around her surroundings. "Once we hear from the 7th player, what do you think will be our next course of action?" D asked the group.

Persophone, managing to sit off to the side of the group without anyone noticing, clearly distraught about the butchering of her name, tries to speak up. "Guys...I really...I liked my name...You can call tha...call me that if you want I guess...It really doesn't matter." She buried her face back into her ample chest, silent again.

Bishop glanced down at Persephone's chest, now more visible given that a layer was recently removed. He quickly regains his composure and sits down next to her.

"Don't worry, sweetheart. I understand the value of a name. I'll call you 'Persephone', so don't worry."
