[The Court will now reconvene to the new spot. The Court Recorder has proudly produced the old forum topic link right here

Also here is the cast in case someone has forgotten.

As a side note, in a mysterious deletion of a file, where I had all written documents in it including details about HC-32 (My little brother is suspected), it might become a bit of a bumpy ride, when it comes to the storyline and some problems might be experienced.

Luckily I remember the story itself pretty well :D

Anyways some of you have received the detailed info to your old PM's in the old forums. If you'd be so kind and send them to me, so I can get a hunch about current events - which then helps me to remember the rest. Thankyou.

Now here are the post on the last page in the old forum topic:]

Sigmund Snipe: Snipe bursted out laughing:

"Oh come ON! Bruises?! Take a look at the Autopsy Report again. First of all, there were no bruises found from the body. Second - The body laid in the ground for two days... It had already badly decomposed."

Tallaan: But here's the thing, if Mrs. Stern was physically fighting with Mr. Baum, then wouldn't he have hit her back, even just once? Even if that wasn't so, why go about 8 meters to shoot her? why not shoot her when she hit him?

Sigmund Snipe: There is also a slight chance, that they hadn't fought at all. You DO know, how some people despise door-to-door salesmen. Baum might already have the wounds in the first place.

Your Honor... Does this seem a point to you? I have a variety of witnesses waiting and they're certainly not going to wait long (at least one of them...). I consider the Defense's claims so far only as a key to play time.

HyperJerk: "Okay old boy.. Just sit down for now"
Grossberg glances over at Sigmund
"Im sure things will be better during the cross examination"

Sigmund Snipe: Snipe grinned: "This IS the cross-examination."

tallaan: *Somewhat worried look on his face, but then thinks of something*
Well there is one last thing I'd like to confirm with Detective Gumshoe... and it won't take that long
Gumshoe, you said that there was blood on the shovel... where was it?

[There you go]

(Sorry I just realized now that you transferred it Payne )

*Looks at Gumshoe with a slight smile, but thinking he has NO idea where this one will lead him at the moment*

The handle you say... now isn't that curious. The only way I can think of blood getting on the handle is if someone was holding it with a bloody hand.

*Then realizes something and, with a cocky self-confidence about is, says*

And seeming someone used the shovel with bloody hands, wouldn't it be possible they left behind fingerprints?

Snipe grins manically: "There weren't any fingerprints. I believe, I've already made it clear."

*Making a look that obviously tells the entire courtroom that he blundered*

This looks BAD... lets see... no finger prints on the shovel or the gun... mean he wore gloves... but was there any...

*Then it hits him, and gives a small smile*

Well, that means he was probably wearing gloves at the time correct. But here's the question, and yes I do realize I'm backtracking a bit, *quickly glances at gumshoe* but when he did enter the bar, did ANYONE mention him having gloves on, yes or no?

*Snipe threw the burn-out cigarette butt away, lighting up a new one.

"That is quite enough, Mr. Kaminogi. There will be a specific witness for that. As of right now, you're only chasing your own tail", he said coldly

Your Honor. I request, that we end the cross-examination on the part of Detective Gumshoe - and let me call the next witness."

Snipe grinned:

"Very well. I shall immediately jump over to that very bar event - and summon it's owner Neil Russell to the stand. Since Souryuu already asked this, I shall give my answer."

*He nudged Lieutenant Richter to go and get Russell.

*Snipe cleared his throat and lit up a new smoke. He glanced his colleagues at the audience, smirking a bit. He coughed*

"Now. Please state the Court your full name and occupation for the record", he said, turning his head towards Neil. He looked him. Blank, professional, examining look.

Neil coughed loudly, and tried to act formally, which didn't really work out with his hands in his pockets. He got a little nervous by the prosecutor's staring, but he tried to comfort himself by saying he just was senile.

"My name is Neil Russel, and I seem to be a pub owner."

Testimony

"I was just relaxing in the inn, seeing as there wouldn't be any customers that night anyway. However, at around half past eleven, a man showed up. I was all like, hey, you're one dirty slob, because the weird guy was covered in sand and he looked like he'd been roughed up in some fight. Also, what he had with him looked kind of odd for the average inn customer."

"That's it for now, have fun."

Soryuu frowned, the testimony was Neil had given was too short. He smelled a trap but he wouldn't get anywhere if he held back. But first he needed to get the answer to the question that didn't get answered earlier. "Mr. Russel did the person you saw come into your inn on the night in question have gloves on?"

He raised up the metal shovel so, that everyone could see it.

Hold it!

How could you not notice his hands if you were paying attention to the shovel? After all, he was holding it in his hands.

Neil tries to make the impression of thinking really deeply.

"Hrrmm... Well, I think he didn't have gloves, actually.

Anyway, after he came in, he starting all mumbling something about something terrible that had happened. Was quite freaky, really. He also asked if he could lend a car."

Snipe mumbled silently to himself. Then he looked at Neil.

"There was a car parked outside Baum's apartment, when he was arrested. The registration plates confirmed, that it was your car, Mr. Russell. So I take, that you lent the car to the defendant, right? Despise his... 'freaky' behavior."

Neil kept his grin, although it became a little more awkward.

"Well, erm, yes. The guy asked me for a car, and, erm, seeing as it's sometimes no the nicest kind of people that ask me this kind of thing, erm, I lent him my car. And freaky?" Neil straightened himself. "When you've been in this kind of bar for a while, nothing is freaky. Although his mumbling about "something terrible has happened" was a bit scary for a while, I guess."

Neil sighed.

"Anyway, I lent him my keys for the car, thinking I could always catch a bus the next day anyway. I asked the guy to scribble down his name and address, so I could pick it up later, so I'm not that stupid really. When they got me in the cop station to say something about the night, I noticed that the guy was the guy over there. You know, the guy who probably has done it."

((Sorry I havent posted, been busy plus I hit a bit of a mental block. Though could we do something about Grossburg since Hyper hasn't posted for him in a long time))

Soryuu was deep in thought, there was something that didn't seem quite right about this.

Objection

I'll take you word that you've seen some strange things at your job, but even so shovel still should have sent up a red flag. After all, it had blood on it!! And he was muttering about something terrible has happened. Frankly if a man like that came up to me I'd be calling the police, not lending him a car.

Neil glanced awkwardly at Snipe, then looked at Kaminogi again. His grin had disappeared.

"Wh..? It had blood on it? I hadn't noticed... And, err.."

Neil put his fingers on his temples, pressing inwards. He relaxed a little. He cleared his throat.

"Well, I... Actually I never call the police. It's bad for my customers' comfort, you see."

Mr. Russell you stated clearly before that you were paying close attention to the shovel, ergo, I find that it would be impossible for you not to have seen it. Unless you weren't telling the truth...

Neil thought for a moment, then said:

"I'm positive there was no blood on the shovel. To be honest, I mostly found it weird that he was carrying a shovel in a bar. I think I haven't noticed the details about the shovel - except that it was big, metal, and carried by the defendant guy."

Snipe bit his fingernails for boredom. He opened the Autopsy Report and looked it for a moment:

"Mr. Kaminogi. I've let you to play your little game for now. But need I clarify that this shovel was used - to bury the corpse. Not to murder it."

"There is no question that the shovel in question was used to bury Mrs. Stern. However, after hearing the witnesses' testimony, I think that the crucial question has become when was she buried? Not to mention it also brings into question whether the defendant buried her or not. Wouldn't you agree Mr. Snipe?" Soryuu said and sipped his coffee, waiting for the prosecution to respond.

Snipe thought a long while for the Defense's question and his smoke managed to burn out already. He lit a new one and then grinned:

"My apologies, if I sound too blank right now... But obviously the beautiful smell of coffee manages to smell over the stench of 'obvious answer'. Ladies and Gentlemen, Your Honor, Esteemed Defense. I hereby present you - two documents. The Almighty Autopsy Report and The Police Report."

He showed two files:
AUTOPSY REPORT
-----------------------------------
Time of Death: 10.30pm - 11.00pm 26th July

Reason of Death:

Loss of blood and damaged lung caused by three 9 millimeter bullets.

***

POLICE REPORT
-----------------------------------
Crime: Homicide 1st Degree
Crime Scene: Small Parking/ Resting spot. Outskirts of L.A.

Suspect: Michael Baum, 37 years, Male, Door-to-door -salesman
Victim : Maria Stern, 32 years, Female, Barber

Description:

Body was dug up about near a resting spot outskirts of L.A
Witness Emma Tiara was enroute to L.A. and stopped to take a break, when realized
an usual scent near the stop. She went to discover the origin of the smell and found a hand sticking out the ground-

Emma Tiara panicked and ran off screaming to the road. Same time officer John Cartridge was driving back to the precint and was stopped immediately, when saw a screaming woman in the middle of the road.

Further discoveries during the autopsy showed, that it was a body of Maria Stern.

Reason of Arrest:

Around 11.30 pm Neil Russel, an owner of a small pub 1 mile off the crime scene saw the defendant busting in to the pub dirty from sand carrying a shovel. He had minor injuries, that showed, he had ran into a fight. He had asked for help from the pub owner. Owner, Neil Russel had identified Michael Baum and was put under arrest for murder.

Motive for Crime:

Michael Baum and Maria Stern were lovers, but according to the neighbors, especially Philip Groze and Marcus Chamberlain, who both lived next door, they've got serious fights recently. Michael Baum had just last week won 2 million dollars in the lottery. Maria Stern seemingly wanted to have her cut from the prize, but Michael was reluctant to give it. They both have fights in, which Michael Baum seems to get hit by an unknown object to the head.

Possible progress of Crime:

In order to completely stop the case, it would seem, that Michael and Maria drove in to the resting spot and while Maria was away, Michael pulled out the gun and shot her three times burying her afterwards with the shovel in his trunk. He then panicked himself after burying the body and ran off to Neil Russel's inn. Neil Russel lend him a car to get back home.

Details:

One bullet pierced a lung. Other two bullets shot in left shoulder and left waist, damaging artilleries and muscles. Bullet in left shoulder penetrated
the body. Approximate distance shooting distance was 8 meters. Body was buried soon after shooting. Body was found 2 days later. Decomposition process had already started, but identification and determining the reason of death was still able to be complete.

-----------------------------------

"I've highlighted the 'Obvious Answers' from the Autopsy and the Police Report. First of all the ToD, second the time, Russel HIMSELF stated for Baum's arrival time, when he was interrogated."

"And especially I bring the Time of Death under attention. 10.30pm - 11.00pm 26th July. It's 30th July today. That means, the murder happened... 4 days ago. The Autopsy won't lie."

Soryuu grinned, he couldn't believe that Snipe could say that and not realize the problem with it. "That is all true, except that the witness has brought up a very puzzling question. He claims that he saw no blood on the shovel when the defendant was holding it in the pub. If that is true, then how did the blood get on the shovel?"
