All things considered, Turnabout Bigtop has it's flaws...but it also has enough good points to stand on its own as an official case... granted it didn't hold my attention as much as the add-on case 1-5 did.
The cloak-bust theory was still batshit-insane.

There's a good few people in this forum who can come up with pretty insane, yet logical, theories...
and I doubt any of them would have come up with it either. I would have simply written 'and Acro attached the cape to the bust prior to dropping it to place all the blame on Max!'
Then again, that's probably why I'm not working for Capcom.

I just thought it was a funny case overall, especially in court.
Out of all the cases in JFA, this was NOT my least favorite.
And I like Max, I thought he was funny...

But maybe that's just my love of the absurd talking. It's a fun case that requires that you think in a completely off-kilter way to win. It would have been kind of nice if there'd been a hint of the possibility that the cloak could fly off with an impact, but it still sort of works.

But I loved it.
2-3's characters were a lot of fun. I laughed HARD when Trilo just started going off. It was fantastic. Regina was adorable with how naive and sheltered she was. And Moe? Definitely one of my favourites in the entire series. A good guy, who just doesn't know how to tell a joke.
Max was the only person that bothered me... and that's fine. That's what he was designed for. As the case went on, I grew to like him. As for Acro... I like him. When he just broke down, it was a great moment. It made me think anyway.
As for cape on bust... it isn't a huge deal. It's all about suspending belief, while thinking: "I guess that ... COULD happen..."
I was just relieved to find out Max wasn't originally flying.
And for the record, who else thought that this case would be discussing Max's death? I assumed the scene at the beginning was going to show Max falling to his death ala Batman Forever. That would have been so sick.

Reading through the thread, I DO see some reasons. But the coincidence of the murder, the over-the-top characters, the whole setting... that's why I love it! It FEELS like a circus. You have the bipolar ventrioquist, unfunny clown, jackass magician, innocent and naive lion tamer, and a handicapped acrobat. Contradictions of themselves. It's like a big joke.
And of course... the ending. First case to make me cry, because there was NO villain. Everyone's innocent, everyone's guilty, and everyone's a victim. For no real reason, two people are dead, one's is in prison, one's orphaned, and a company is in shambles. It's really quite tragic.
