I'm well aware that this is nitpicking to the extreme but I guess I just had a question/concern.

Spoiler: 2-1,2-2 Just in Case
So :franny: came to the States to get revenge on :phoenix: for stuff from the first game. Indeed, she seems adamant about beating Phoenix in court no matter what it takes and often makes sure he knows that his utter defeat will be at her hands. Despite this, she seems to not be particularly gung ho as she doesn't make an appearence in 2-1 which is chronologically later than 2-2. I know that :payne: is always the one to prosecute the first case and I'm probably just thinking too much into this but still, just a concern. I guess I was wondering if anyone had thought about/come up with a reason as to why she might not make an appearance...

actually that is indeed a good point, although you may have been able to explain it as Payne got the case first, that seems unlikely as the game notes how cases involving the police are strictly dealt with, meaning they would of likely put their best prosecutor on the job, which at that point was fran. Interesting indeed.

Franziska may have been licking her wounds from the first case.

Hehehe, Franziska and licking in the same sentence...

Just 'cause Franzy was the best prosecutor in the Office at that time, doesn't mean she'd get every case. :yuusaku:

However it was about the murder of a policeman, and one was suspected. Not to mention that Phoenix Wright was on the case.

Payne may have still been considered one of the best, only after losing a couple of cases. von Karma only took one case in the country.

True, and as far as we know, Phoenix only worked on the one trial opposite Franziska. She probably would only be bothered with special cases or cases in which Phoenix was involved. Though it's possibe that Payne has some sort of seniority perhaps. I didn't think about it that way. Maybe he somehow convinced the chief prosecutor to put him in charge of that case...

It's because having Franziska for case 2-1 would have too much hotness in one room. I mean come on. Richard AND Franziska in the same room?! IT'D EXPLODE ; ;

Payne is considered a veteran prosecutor. Those are usually the best ones. Franziska already lost one case to Phoenix so the Chief Prosecutor (I don't think its Lana Skye in this case but whatever) probably assigned Payne the case. After all the guy already lost once to Phoenix

Actually, That's a good point that I never thought of before.

I figured that maybe she didn't appear in 2-1 despite after taking place 2-2 for a reason. Perhaps, She took the case off to study his style in the courtroom. She could have been sitting in the audience/jury watching. You know, as a way to prepare against him in court for their next showdown. After all, knowing your enemy is half the battle.

That's actually another good possibility. I could see Franziska preparing herself for a perfect win by perfectly analyzing the defense's tactics. Unfortunately Phoenix wasn't exactly on top of his game...

The characters know they're in a video game, so they know that the first case must ALWAYS be with Payne.

Actually, that is quite a possibility considering that...
Spoiler: 2-4
The only reason Franziska wanted to beat Phoenix was to prove that she was better than Edgeworth since Phoenix beat him in court.

Very good idea.

PMS. Frannie gets labor-like PMS. It's a pretty awful condition.

I hope that's a joke. Franziska is only 18 at the time of 2-1/2-2, She's a little too young to be suffering from PMS.

Meh, it's not dead, just a bit off course. I think we've made some interesting headway into this conundrum. I will have to think more on this matter though but I just wanted to say the first statement. We still need more ideas...and I'm certainly out.

Here's my explanation. Franziska likes perfect cases.

:franny: So this is the photo of the victim's name written on the ground.
:payne: Indeed! Conclusive evidence if I ever saw any!
:franny: ...Yeah. Good luck with that case.
:payne: I thought you said you were taking over, Ms. Von Karma...?

I am pretty sure this is what happened....

:whip: Foolishly foolish case can only have a foolish prosecutor, and the fool who thinks he is foolishly free of foolish guilt will be found out for the foolishly obvious evidence that foolishly rides against that fool.
With that it is obvious she wouldn't take a case that would obviously ruin her win-record.

Here's my explanation:

The case was far too straightforward. Maggey said that Phoenix's eyes lit up when she mentioned the cell phone, and if it weren't for the amnesia, it would've been a walk in the park (pun intended).

I mean, my bet is Franzy knew the case would end in 'Not Guilty'.
