Contradiction in Case 2 (Spoilers)

So, I replayed case 2 today. I noticed a contradiction as soon as I started.

First of all, if a topic is marked spoilers, you don't need to use tags. Just a heads up :)

Anyway, this is a pretty common misconcieved contradiction. Remember that Mimi and Morgan were alone while Phoenix and Lotta called the police. During that time they set up the crime scene, like switching places with Maya and planting her fingerprints.

But her fingerprints should be on the gun if she shot Grey. The gun was used as incriminating evidence because the only fingerprints on it were Grey's and Maya's. Her fingerprints should also be on the knife as well.

I don't think it's a stretch to assume that Mimi and Morgan simply wiped the fingerprints off and replaced them with Maya's.

I can see where a certain other devious character gets their traits, given Morgan is that person's mother!
