I managed to find the Translation Projects names for a few of the characters:

(The fan translation from Comeback Courtroom, that is. Meaning, not official)

GS3-2
Kamen Mask = Mysterious Mask

GS2-4:

We-Wo-Wo-Wa? Is this real? They're actually translating it right now? OMGWTFBBQ. O____________O

If this is real, "Ben Cryan" is freaking PERFECT. Can't believe nobody thought of that. XD

All of this is real. I took them from the scripts myself. It hurt my brain too.
Some quotes that I feel need PR:

Javado : I came to see a little lost kitten tossed into the Garden of Justice.

Javado : That old geezer's probably still in bed. Embracing an empty bottle and having himself a chat with Bacchus! (Referring to Grossberg/Grossman as it is known in the GS3 project)

Anything Young Edgeworth says. He has more von Karma personality in him than current Edgeworth.

Step 1: Get the patch and the ROM
Step 2: Patch the GS3 ROM. Usually, there's a folder called Patch after.
Step 3: Patch->cc3_source->scripts
Step 4: Open up any file with Notepad. It hurts your brain, but the rewards are somewhat... shocking.

EDIT: Croik, you want proof? I got your proof right here!

What I find wierd with it is that they refer to the defense as 'counsel', and the prosecution as 'counsel'. Or are they directly translating it...

Not to burst anyone's bubble, but these are only the fan translations from http://comebackcourt.sourceforge.net/ before anyone assumes they're from capcom.

The translation project is probably dead at this point since GS3 will most likely be translated by capcom themselves due to our overwhelming support of the series.

Bummer. I thought it might be something like that. I didn't know what a ROM was (just looked it up. I'm sad, yes? D:) so I got confused.

Still, Ben Cryan seems like an awesome name.
New name:
Grossberg = Grossman (this only happens in Case 4)

Oh, and a quote from the great coffee-addicted defense attorney that just screamed great:

Javado : I tell you, for a woman, you've got some balls.

EDIT: Unfortunately, I've reached the end of my rope with these mysterious names. But I'll get a list of all names, new and old, in the GS3 project.

Or...you could just email the project creators and ask.

I don't see why this matters at all. They're just fan-created names like any we frans have been creating for the past several months.

And your OP is misleading, so I'm gonna edit it a tad~

Would that be better or worse than "Javado Beckett" as I've heard someone throw around as a proposal?

The progress page in the old website seems to suggest 10% of case 4 was completed in the demo. If so, has anyone gone up to case 4 and seen the English text?

Or... you could just look at the script like it did Matt .
Besides, there was a script for Case 2, but that wasn't translated.

As in "full translation but not implemented in the ROM" or "full programming but no translation"?

*really hopes the former*

Ah, so kind of half of both Yuusaku Too bad they never finished Case 2, then. It'd have been worth it.

Yeah, I know the fan thranslation project has been taken off, and maybe it's already been confirmed, but I just got to case 4 with the patch on (Thank you GAMEFAQs), and nothing has been translated.

That means only the scripts were partially translated. The had not been applied.

Sorry for reviving an old, outdated thread, but I think I've pretty much given an answer to those wondering at the time.
This sig needs to be changed soon...
