When Dahlia realized that she was in Maya's body, why didn't she try to commit suicide, or just do something that causes a great physical injury to Maya? I mean, for Dahlia, it really doesn't matter, and she'd cause death, or at least pain to the one she originally wanted to kill.

Maybe because she was afraid to feel pain? oh well, how could she kill herself anyway? with her fingernails?

Bang her head on the witness stand, try to eat one of the crystal balls to make herself choke, or simply strangle herself (if it's possible), strike her head with the Magatama or something :)

When a spirit suffers injury (ex. blow to the head) they are ejected from the medium's body.

I also expected Dahlia to try to commit suicide, but then I realized that thing from 2-2 xD

When this came up in another thread, someone made this sprite comic: (So I am NOT taking credit for it. Also, this is just a paraphrasing of it)
Mia: You suck, you'll never beat me, etc, etc
Dahlia: Oh really? Then say good-bye to your little sister!
*Bangs head against the witness stand*
Dahlia *blacking out*: W-Wait... no... dammit...

Ooooh.

I'd actually been wondering the exact thing, and I never put together the "spirit severing technique" Morgan talks about with the spirit being ejected due to any strong physical blow.
...The effect isn't immediate though, is it?

In any case, if she wanted to commit "suicide" she'd have to make sure it was a very quick method, because spirit-severing aside, there would be tons of people there to stop her. And she didn't really have any immediate methods available.
I dunno why she didn't try to injure Maya though.

But yeah, being stabbed isn't the same as being hit on the head. More to the point, put yourself in Dahlia's shoes: Her plan not only failed again, but she had the person she hated most, the person responsible for sending her to her death, rubbing that in her face along with everything else that went wrong in her life.

I'd probably be too upset to think clearly, too.

Can I just say that Morgan Fey may have said that as a cover-up for the plan that was going on at the time...given that nobody was even channelled during that case. :P

1: Realistic Reason: Because in order to commit suicide in that situation, she would have to do something graphic enough that it would raise the game's rating somewhat
2. In-game Reason: Because she couldn't. (well she could, but see above reason for that) She didn't know long enough to have a method ready.

There's also the possibility that Dahlia just couldn't get herself to kill Maya in that situation. Sure, she knew she was dead and it was really Maya's body, but being channelled probably feels very much like the medium's body is your own, so it would almost be like she was killing herself.

I imagine that would be a hard psychological obstacle to overcome (unless you're suicidal, which Dahlia wasn't), and, again, Mia's verbal lashing at the time wouldn't have helped matters.

How would it not have helped make her suicidal?
It's being told that your entire life was a failure and then realizing that the person is right.
And she could commit suicide by biting her tounge (At least I think so. That thing is loaded with blood. If she bit the right place, I'm pretty sure she could bleed out really fast, but I'm no autority on suicide methods or bleeding to death. Nor do I want to be :keiko:

if i remember correctly... dahlia was surprised maybe... and remembering that killing thyself would knock her and again be left in darkness, she wouldn't see if she really killed maya fey. she only wanted maya dead. and i pretty much remember her stating that she needs to see if she really killed maya, dead cold. :that-b-word:

*shudder* I always hate the thought of going out like that. But yeah, the lingual artery runs through it so it would be pretty easy to bleed to death.

I still wonder why she didn't commit "suicide". I mean, I doubt it would be anything psychological; Dahlia's pretty much a sociopath, and she seemed determined to do whatever she had to to achieve her goal. She jumped into a river where bodies are very rarely recovered when she was still alive, at fourteen, no less. Why would she be hesitant to do anything when she was possessing the sister of Mia, the person who sent her to death?
