Godot: What were his real motives? He said that he knew it was really Misty or Pearl who was standing before him, and he decided to kill her anyway. Was it to take revenge against Dahlia or was it for Maya's sake? He didn't even know it himself. What would you think? I think it was a little of both, but probably mostly for Maya, because she was the reason he went to Eagle Mountain in the first place (to prevent the plan from being carried out).

The thing about the ending is that it was left open for the player to decide how it really play out on the emotional and conscience level. They give the details and it's up to you to decide how to read it out.

I believe that Godot did it mostly for revenge rather than to protect Maya. After all, Dahlia did poison and nearly killed him and also indirectly killed Mia.

But... He knew Dahlia couldn't be punished anymore, as she was already dead. Was it in anger? I think so... I think he was furious at the sight of Dahlia and acted in haste.
