Something's been puzzling me since I finished 3-5. When we're first introduced to Godot, at least verbally, someone (Atmey? Gumshoe? I can't remember...) claims that Godot is the best prosecuter in the country, to which Maya claims that Edgeworth is the best prosecuter, to which the first person reminds her that Edgeworth is abroad at the moment and that Edgeworth himself was impressed by Godot's potential as a prosecuter, suggesting that he knew who Godot was.

However, in 3-5, when Edgeworth first learns about Godot jumping into all of Wright's cases, he comments that he's never heard of the prosecuter before.

Did I just misread/misunderstand what was said in 3-2, or is this a contradiction? :inspect:

Yeah. Someone's lying and I'd lay odds it's not Edgeworth.

Actually I think there may be someone other than Atmey that says the same thing (?)

I rather suspected that Godot was the liar in question - that he may have "exaggerated" his references or resume in order to get into court against Phoenix. After all, Edgeworth would be the easiest to reference in that kind of situation, him not being in the same continent. And also, presumably Godot would know of him (not wanting to spoiler here but you know what I mean).

*nod* I agree with KM. He does call himself a legendary prosecutor (hoho, perfect record) - judging from the looks and his knowledge I suppose, he's not most the most incredible person.

No one else got the "Waiting for Godot" reference? :godot:
"Some people spend their lives idly waiting for him" or something to that effect.
Best play of all time.
