So, I was replaying 3-2, and this is how I got the version of events

-Prolouge Investigation
-Urn disappears from museum (It had to have that night. There can't be another explanation for it) but that's not what I'm focusing on.
-Kane Bullard is murdered on the same night, and is stuffed into a safe.
-The next day: Investigation Day 1.
-The next day: Trial Day 1, Investigation Day 2.

OK, so during the Investigation Day 2, and during Trial 1, it was established that if Ron wasn't Mask*de Masque when he stole the urn, then he'd have to be the murderer, correct? That was before Investigation Day 1, the same night the urn got stolen.

However, on Investigation Day 2, they kept saying that Kane's body wasn't in the safe for a full day, and that the murder had taken place "last night". While those two contradict themselves in context, they also contradict the entire timeline.

So, what? Am I missing something?

Let me see if I can sum it up:

If Bullard was murdered when the urn was stolen, then how on Investigation Day 2 can Bullard NOT be stuffed in a safe for less than a day, and for him to have been murdered "last night" according to the text?

To tell the truth, I'm a little confused about this myself, and I tend to not be clear when that happens.

But, he was murdered the day it was supposedly stolen. That still doesn't cover the whole thing about all the dialouge in Investigation Day 2 skipping a day.

Unfortunately, I can't find it officially. However I remember one piece of dialouge that spawned this thread:

Investigation Day 2:

Maya: (something to the effect of) "So how did they know that the body was in the safe for almost a whole day?"
---------------------

That can't be right. If the body was in the safe for almost a day, it would have to have been put in sometime during Trial Day 1, the night of Investigation day 1/Early morning Trial Day 1, or the late afternoon of Investigation Day 1.

Since the murder happened the exact same time as the (fake) urn theft, Bullard would have to have been stuffed in the safe after Ron woke up, and that was still early morning Investigation Day 1.

Thus, the time gap.

[calling card]--[10 days.]--['Theft' and murder]--[Trial/Kane Bullard's body is found]

^Please excuse my primitive timeline.

Atmey sent the calling card 10 days before the date of the theft, I believe. Atmey stole the urn during those 10 days to give himself an alibi (He was 'Stealing the Urn'). The 'Theft' happened before the day of the murder, but it wasn't realized before then due to Atmey 'guarding' it. That night, he killed Kane Bullard.

Make sense now?

No, no, no, no. THAT DOESN'T MATTER. As I said previously, the night of the fake urn theft and the murder were the same, so how could everyone say that the body was in the safe for less than a day, ON THE SECOND DAY OF INVESTIGATION?

I was only using the urn part as a reference. THE URN PART DOESN'T MATTER HERE.

:damon: 'twas a typo, and nothing more. It's not like localisation was perfect ("I'm not the one on trail here!" from PW1)

You mean a series of typos then? Because there were more than just my example, I'm sure of that.

I think I figured out how to keep the explanation at it's simplest:

Kane Bullard was suppossedly put in the safe the night that the whole mess started. Yet, the time of death was supposedly 24 hours later, along with everyone from Day 2 on saying that, they also say that he wasn't in the safe for a whole day. How is this possible?

No one thinks that. You're misinterpretting what they're saying. When I played it, it was fairly clear to me the murder happened the night you said, and everyone understood that. "Almost", "Just Over" a day...same thing.

I seriously didn't care.

I played the game, enjoyed it, and used a guide for half of it.

Also, remember that the police is not the best group of people in the world in the PW world, so they make mistakes.

Problem solved.
