I'd like to see more of this *BIG SPOILERS FOR ALL THREE GAM

Have you noticed that you very rarely cross-examine the defendant themselves? The only clients you do this with are Edgeworth (and he only has one testimony), Lana, Young Phoenix, Ron and Terry (again, only one testimony).

I'd quite like to be able cross-examine more defendants in future games, because it adds an interesting dynamic with you often having to expose your client's lies even though that might incriminate them.

What do you think?

I agree :0 Kinda shows more of human nature that way instead of making the assumption that the client is perfect. D:

Also, though the legal system in these games is already screwy beyond all reason, cross-examining the defendant does make it feel more like a real court. I'm no lawyer (I just play as one in video games) but I found it kind of disturbing in the first game that Will, Edgeworth, Maya, etc, weren't allowed to speak on their own behalves in court. They're not allowed to defend themselves?

I agree. Cross-examining the defendant always adds a new edge because you're worried about incriminating them by exposing the contradictions. It really makes you doubt weather or not you should be completely honest, which is something I'm sure lawyers constantly struggle with in reality.
