Yea, execution was my assumption once I found out that he was dead (I couldn't understand for the longest time why he was in the top picture instead of the bottom XD)
Though I think it would be kind of funny (if not ironic) if he takes his own life by poisoning his coffee or something...
(I'm not saying that happened, but I had a dream like that.... :yuusaku: )

Well, I'll try to get this out with as little spoilers as possible.

I was disappointed. It didn't live up to the psychoness of our killer from the last game. And those few drops of blood... made it seem very emo...

and I didn't like the killer's attitude towards Feenie... he didn't do anything wrong! :ayame: That person was evil.

And why does something always have to happen to :maya: in the last case? *sigh*

Yeah... I hate to admit it, but I do think he is dead. The picture at the end made it kind of obvious. So much for seeing him in a future AA game :sob:

:objection:

Wait...maybe GODOT is dead, but Diego Armando is not... There is hope!!

Okay, so I admit I just finished T&T yesterday (I didn't even play the first game till last Friday, and beat all 3 in a week. I'm a latecomer, I know).

Oh.

My.

God.

That is all.

...

Okay maybe not all. There was so much stuff in case 3-5 that I was just like, O.O over.

Spoiler: I know this thread is full of spoilers but still
Lets see. There was the "OMG ITS DAHLIA but maybe not" moment at the start. There was the "OMG NICK JUST FELL INTO THE RIVER" moment. There was the "OMG I GET TO PLAY AS EDGEY!" fangirl spaz moment. There was the "OMG POOR MAYA STUCK IN THERE" moment. There was teh "OMG THATS MISTY FEY" moment. There was the "OMG IRIS AND DAHLIA ARE PEARL'S SISTERS?" moment. There was the "OMG SOMEONE CHANNELED DAHLIA SO THATS WHAT HAPPENED" moment. There was the "OMG THATS NOT IRIS ON THAT THERE WITNESS STAND" moment. There was the "OMG IS MAYA DEAD???" There was the "OMG GODOT DID IT" moment. And there was the "OMG GODOT IS DIEGO!? I thought he was his BROTHER" moment.

So sue me for being slow, but I saw none of that coming.

Though playing as :edgy: was one of the highlights of the whole series for me. I'm such a fangirl.

The whole Dahlia-exorcism scene freaked me out.

I did wish Franzy had given Nick the drawing from the end of JfA. But its no big deal. I liked the end, really. It gave closure. And now we know that Edgey's getting his own game, so I'm not TOO sad about lack of his appearance in the credits.

OMG GODOT! I still hate the fact that we had to accuse him. I felt so guilty. Yeah, he did it, but he's such a sympathetic character....*huggles :godot: / :javado: *

The last case just furthered my :phoenix: / :edgy: yaoi fangirlishness. I love how concerned over Nick Edgey seemed to be. It was so cute!! ^_^

Oh, and the epilogue totally made me a :adrian: / :franny: fangirl, too. ^_^

Oh, and for those who were sad about the lack of "Super Objection' in 3-5, I made a rough mix of it. I don't know where to upload it to though...

Does anyone know what the song that plays for Larry in the end in the Defendant's Lobby was called? It was so sad and so good...I'd also like to know what it's for as well, considering it only plays once.

I actually first watched the last case on YouTube, and it was pretty much the first I saw of the game. I couldn't make much sense of it, obviously. Recently, I went through the effort of actually playing through it. Only having played all the cases before it did I get the impact of that moment:

"I'm going to bring your magnificent vengeance to fruition...JUST HOW YOU WANTED IT!"

Hearing the original music in such an intense and high-tempo way was just perfect then. Also having an infinite penalty and making it the final showdown was really great. Someday I'm going to make an AA game that disables saves, so you REALLY have the full impact. However, speaking of which, I was a bit annoyed at the final piece of evidence. It's like...how do you mix that up with something else? It was a bit too direct of a question, in my opinion.

Oh yeah, in reference to Godot...I sort of felt that after that trial, he confessed to a first-degree murder even though that wasn't what he was charged with. He felt complete with his life, and wanted to somehow redeem himself.
I'm gone for so long, and the colors got all psychedelic! Woohoo!

This is what I thought, too. As Godot, he called Diego Armando dead. At the end, he was called Diego Armando again, even in the text box. I always thought now Diego considers Godot dead.

The thing I liked about 3-5, was that you didn't know who the murderer was until the end. I mean, we didn't even KNOW that he was there until Maya testified in the end.

i just finished it two days ago...
and
Spoiler:
i was really sad....at first i though i would be sad cause godot was guilty (even though i was) but i ended up being sad because of the stuff he said about mia (i actually cried a little at that part), and how the only person he would never forgive was himself. and also, how he was talking about how dahlia took everything from him...

i was really really sad for him... :larry:
although, i was kinda disappointed by the ending because i though we would get to see godot with his mask off, and that we would get to talk to him after the trail.
and about diego,
Spoiler:
right when i saw him, i KNEW it was godot. i mean, everything looked the same, except for the hair color and (obviously) no mask. it was even the same outfit, just a red shirt instead of a green one. and then, there was the part about him liking coffee so much.

i was saddened by the ending in court, very much. i even replayed it 4 or 5 times (the ending of the trial), it was so good. not meaning to sound sappy, but it really moved me...at first all he seemed like was a bitter bastard (even though i liked him for it) who always kept his cool and seemed "untouchable", but then at the end it revealed his true feelings...

although, i was also disappointed that franny and edgey didnt get a say in the credits, and the sketch of
Spoiler:
godot, mia, and misty/elise mean that godot died????

"Blacker than a moonless night, hotter and more bitter than Hell itself...that is coffee."

quite a lot of people think he's dead because of that, I personally think it's to show the protectors of Maya. I disliked that the meal in Tres Bien wasn't featured, and that Grossberg or Payne didn't feature in the credits, all in all it was pretty good, shame I spoiled most of the case years before the game came out thinking GS3 would never come to europe, (damn you Wikipedia), that said I'd seen the exploding mask animation before I did the case and yet It didn't click that Godot was a murderer.

I think what's saddest is that they had hardly any time together before he was poisoned. I'd have liked to see more of them interacting together 'cause I think they're such a cute couple.

I felt really sad at that part. Especially when Godot referenced Waiting for Godot by saying "In the end, I guess no one was waiting for me."

God the ending of that case was so sad. I love Godot a lot and when I found out it was him I was just speechless, nearly crying. I was close to crying when he started talking about how he was the one who failed to protect Mia. I agree with PeachySweetPearl that they didn't get enough interaction.

But I was always wondering, Godot did realize Mia was there when Pearl was channeling and he barely said anything to her, I was pretty suprised.

..They were in a trial.

Plus if he started talking to her a lot, he'd probably start crying, therefore breaking one of his rules.

Well... it made me tear up a little which is surprising because I really didn't expect it. I think it was mostly because Godot got convicted and he's my favourite character DD;
Nonetheless, it was a good ending except for the fact that Edgey and Franny didn't get to say anything ;___;

The end was sad...I thought :franny: and :edgy: were going to say something in the credits but I got really disappointed...
And one of the things I loved most in the case was that Franny had changed, although her personality was still the same. And I laughed so hard at that part when Maya glared at Franny in the end..xD

I have to say that his excuse that he wasn't in court because of his condition got me. It makes sense, right? I mean if you knew someone and they were barely alive, and they told you that they couldn't make it somewhere because they had to go to the doctor, you'd believe them! >.< It's very possible that Godot wasn't executed, but he just let himself die. After all, he didn't have much else to live for. Phoenix was there to protect Maya and he could finally trust Phoenix to take care of her.

:sob: :sob: That is so sad, but it is sort of true. I'd like to think that Maya and Pearls would be a reason for him to live. Since they are Mia's sister and cousin, it would be a wonderful thing for him to sort of look after them, just like Phoenix does (you can't have too many people who care about you). I just really like things to have at least a somewhat happy ending.

Mostly beautiful. That's what I thought of T&T ending.

My only dislike was Godot supposed death. I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THAT! :edgeworth:

But otherwise, great end for a great series (though I didn't like how that somehow lead Phoenix's fall in AJ).

NO! I DONT LIKE THE ENDING AT ALL!

the whole bada boom and blood tears, they're really cool, but its not that cool anymore when i found out godot is dead. :zenny: :zenny:
Even if he doesn't have anything left to do and all, I still want him alive!

And can someone answer this??
1. How did godot die? (I really hope its because of his condition after being poisoned and coma for 5 years, that would be super epic *u r so cool godot!*)
2. Is godot sentenced to death? (if yes, i will never ever forgive Wright for what hes done)
3. If godot was executed, how? (The picture of him getting hanged, it makes me so... you know?? cant describe)
4. Why is Mia so mean to godot at the last trial?? I mean, c'mon Mia thats your lover!! no need to be so mean... poor godot... *sob*

Well i can understand if noone can, the ending is soooo unclear and soooo not cool.

Anyway, i dont like phoenix anymore after he make godot get the guilty verdict (i know he killed someone but still)

It's pretty doubtable he got the Death Penalty, since he was defending someone. We're pretty sure that IF he died, it would be because of his condition...or his poisioning his own coffee.

I think Mia is mean because she's sad to see Diego like that. I'd say that in the end, even if he's caught, he's finally back to his senses.

Sigh..
I finished T&T for the second time today. I finished it the first time and then went on to be traumatized with what Capcom had done with PW..
The ending, it had enough Epic material, for example Dahlia's Exorcism by Mia. And it had a lot of plot twists(although you have to admit some of them were fairly obvious) but it had some parts that annoyed me a lot.
I will begin with Godot.. at the beginning of the game, he appears to be just an arrogant prosecutor with an addiction or coffee. And then I played 3-4, the moment I saw him holding a mug of coffee, I knew it was him.
Then as 3-5 was almost going to be ended, apparently Godot wanted to be exposed :/ Before Godot talked about his past life, I had few feelings for him.
Then, the way Godot speaked of his life, especially "In the end, when I woke up, no one was waiting for me". He woke up, and his reason to live was lost: the woman he loved was dead, and he couldn't protect her because he lost 5 years of his life when we has trying to investigate and help Mia in the Fawles case. Yet I was surprised at how cold Mia acted to Godot when in court.
And the way when he cried blood, saying "The only time a laywer can cry is when it's all over." meaning that it is all over for him.
What makes me even sadder is that in the ending, they showed him wih Mia and Misty a.k.a. Dead People Section in the top of the sketch, and although I hate to admit it, it probably means he's dead.
And the music at that time wasn't helping :/ I literally cried to his story..
You wouldn't believe how happy I was if, for example, they just mention something in GS5 like "In Other news, famed defense attorney and prosecutor Diego Armando was recently released from jail", or I'd go for anything saying that he's still alive, but that's something that will only happen in my dreams..

Anyway, I am also angered that at the end, they left Phoenix Wright as an attorney with a sucessful career and a bright future, and a possibility of having a relationship(Maya, Iris). Then I play GS4 after that and I get astonished at what has become of him, he became the broken shell of a once proud lawyer, as someone else put it. At first, I was annoyed Capcom didn't bring any characters from the PW arc, but now, I wish Capcom never even put Phoenix Wright wih AJ.

Sorry for the long post, but I had to get this out of my system..

I wrote this in some other post as well but I don't really think Diego is dead.
I always interpreted his last sentence "...when it's all over" as this chapter of his life finally being over. He struggled more than 6(?) years with this one case beginning with the death of Terry Fawles and ending with the death of Misty Fey. It must have been a very bitter time for him, hating Phoenix for not saving Mia and hating himself for the same reason. But he still carried on, pursuing the truth and probably also for revenge.
And now in the end he has to realise, that he went wrong somewhere along the line. He misjudged Phoenix and he blamed himself for something he was innocent of.

He created Godot to go through these tough times - you could say Godot was sort of his mask (perhaps that's the whole interpretation behind the whole mask-issue?). And when the case was finished once and for all he said to Phoenix something like "Please call me Diego Armando" indicating that Godot now is dead, he doesn't need him anymore now that the case can finally rest.
(It really reminds me of the end of the fight between Seta Sojiro and Kenshin in the manga Rouroni Kenshin, perhaps anyone has read that?)
Diego lost 6 years of his life he now has to find a new purpose of his life. He lived all the time just for Mia, she was his answer on the question "Whats the meaning of my life?". Now that the case is closed he has to find answers on his own and I think he will.

I don't think he's been sentenced to death, it just wouldn't fit in the whole series. For example Ron DeLite was a thief after all but obviously he wasn't charged for his crimes and Iris who was a accomplice to murder, after all, didn't seem too unhappy in jail as well. The good guys simply don't get punished too hard in AA so Godot probably got some jail time (thats at least what I think).
The picture in the end sure indicates something else but I just don't believe Diego is just going to die like that. He's got something to make up for and that is not Mia's death but the time he lost blaming himself for her death.

There's not really any evidence for that but it's just what I think a man like Diego/Godot would do. Only a weakling would give himself up and just die after a case like that. It takes much more guts to keep on living and to find the answers in life rather than in death. And I think Diego definitely has guts.

Anyway back to topic:
I basically was disappointed because I knew that would be the last of the Phoenix Wright series. I think with all the interesting characters they could surely have added one or even two PW games after that (At least thats what I would've liked to see ^^). So I was really sad to see it all end (I'm just not good with things going to an end. When I was younger and was reading my first manga, dragon ball, I remember I was really sad for quite some time when the story came to an end - But everything has come to an end I guess :D)
So it's really lucky that there are websites just like this one who keep all these lovely characters alive :D
No matter the man, we all wear masks - Either on our faces or over our hearts...

Salazar: I'm sending my right hand after you.

The ending was zetta good.

Though my memory is too vague to recall what at the end is making you think Godot is dead I wouldn't count on it.

Consider Apollo Justice's case 4 where we see Kristoph in jail after being convicted of murder.

Now I'm uncertain whether he is merely on death row or serving a life sentence but in both cases Godot could probably fix it. He no doubt could probably get a appeal on his verdict easily and a reduced sentence because of it :kyouya-pull:

Furthermore there is a different charge I'm sure. Something for crimes in the heat of passion, in cases of men defending their wives for example where they get carried away and somebody ends up dead. This isn't specific to my example but it stands a crime in the heat of passion is tried differently and sympathetically with lesser sentences so I reckon he'd probably not be killed ya know? It was unveiled that Godot was overcame with emotion and this caused him to kill Misty so considering the extremely...unusual circumstances he'd probably qualify for this charge over murder.

But hold it! There's more! I don't think its ever 100% confirmed that everyone does get the death penalty anyway after their sentencing. Kristoph could simply be serving a life sentence like I said and in Case 3-4 it's revealed that Morgana Fey wasn't dead as Pearl talked to her in the detention center. Then you also have :regina: worrying about Acro (God I hated putting him away) coming to get her after he was already sentenced yet Nick explained the only reason he'd stick around is for his bro Bat in the hope he recovers from his coma.

And the show ain't over yet! As for the final screenshot that shows Godot with the dead people....that is incredibly likely to have been taken in the courtroom immediately after the trial (the same as the other final feel-good snapshots from JFA and AA) as it has the whole gang together before they all go their separate ways. Now it's impossible for Godot to be dead at this point as the trial has just ended and he wouldn't be dead yet so don't consider it definate proof of his death folks. Godot had been taken into custody at this point he couldn't possibly appear with the main group for a photo yet he was one of the main characters in it I reckon it's just a coincidence he's been placed there after all Misty Mia and Diego all share one thing, they are undeniably important characters in the plot, god the whole Mia/Diego thing is the cause of it all. I propose it's not because he's dead that they put him up there but they couldn't possibly put him with the main group and he had to go somewhere so where better to appear than beside his love? The fact that she's dead? Coincidence!
:wall-bang: How's that huh? You got hope for Godot's survival yet?

Though personally I don't reckon we'll be seeing him again I reckon GS4 closed the case on the Phoenix Arc for good.
