I've found that Godot fans are supremely talented at pointing out the bloody obvious. Honestly, if I had to count the number of times I've seen the "Blacker than a moonless night..." line quoted on youtube videos about him as if the poster thought they were being original, I'd hate the line rather than just being unimpressed by it.
...That sounded a bit snarkier than I intended. And I am, after all a Godot fangirl. It's just something that frustrates me. :payne:

News of today: Cafe's all around Hungary are being slowly turned bankrupt by a collective hive simply know as 'The Godot'. Claims say that the outbreak started when the Godot cafe was suddenly swarmed by thousands of Godot cosplayers, or as it's now refered to as 'The Godot Caffine Rush'.

Budapest is officially declared awesome now.

We have to get a big swarm of Godot cosplayers, the Jazz version of "Godot - Fragrance of dark Coffee" on CD and some way how we can all together travel to Budapest and meet at the most awesome café on the planet and order the most bitterst coffee they have there.

Then EPIC WIN will be received, and all Godot fans can live happily ever after.

@ topic

This reminds me of when I was in Paris and there actually was a street named Godot.

What does Godot mean in that language anyway?

According to wikipedia (regarding the play, Waiting for Godot),
Quote:
“When Roger Blin asked him who or what Godot stood for, Beckett replied that it suggested itself to him by the slang word for boot in French, godillot, godasse because feet play such a prominent role in the play. This is the explanation he has given most often.”[49]

“Beckett said to Peter Woodthorpe that he regretted calling the absent character ‘Godot’, because of all the theories involving God to which this had given rise.[50] “I also told [Ralph] Richardson that if by Godot I had meant God I would [have] said God, and not Godot. This seemed to disappoint him greatly.”[51] That said, Beckett did once concede, “It would be fatuous of me to pretend that I am not aware of the meanings attached to the word ‘Godot’, and the opinion of many that it means ‘God’. But you must remember – I wrote the play in French, and if I did have that meaning in my mind, it was somewhere in my unconscious and I was not overtly aware of it.”[52] “Beckett has often stressed the strong unconscious impulses that partly control his writing; he has even spoken of being ‘in a trance’ when he writes.”

So anyone know the address of this coffehouse? Would it be possible to, say, Googlemap it?

I thought somebody mentioned it's location somewhere on the 1st page of this thread. Otherwise it probably mentions the address on their web sie (requires translation though).

I forsee something like this happening there in the future (except with cosplayers): :godot:

Spoiler: 1 T&T sprite

Awesome pic. It would be just epic to do that.

It says "Dumaszínház", which means... eh, I don't know the English word, but it's a small theater.
Yeah, there is this small theater (also titled Godot) next to the café and this is a passage there.

So my guess is that whoever founded the theater was a big fan of the play "Waiting for Godot" and (s)he also opened a café right next to it.

Wouldn't this be something? You finish watching the live action movie of GS in a theatere named after Godot, and then walk next door to get a cup of darkness at the Godot Coffee house :godot: (man this smiley gets used alot)

Hm, I believe it's most likely more like a theatre, with live action, you know.
But watching "Waiting for Godot" and THEN going to the Cafe would be awesome too.
