Same here. To be honest, I felt that Case 4 was a bit of a letdown. It was ridiculously short, and playing as young Mia twice wasn't that cool... Playing as Mia in Case 1 was nice, but doing it again in 4 was going overboard. It would be much better to have an all Edgeworth case, IMO at least.

Personally, I think Ace Attorney should stick to played as the defense. However, a spin off series of games should be made where you play as the prosecution (especially since just about everyone loves Edgey-boy).

I hated the Edgeworth part.
Edgeworth was soo heart-less with Gumshoe!
But, the other charas were funny, and i loved Bikini's Cross Examination.

Edgeworth is fabulous <3

Which is why I don't really understand why so many fans insist on focusing on the emo persona he gives off in 1-4 and 1-5. In every other instance he's confident, in control, and just plain bad ass. And hilarious :edgey:

I mean, I love his emo side, too, but it's his growth from that into 3-5 Edgeworth that makes him such a great character (IMO).

I so agree with you. Emo-Edgey is actually my least favorite Edgeworth. In the original PW game, I liked him, but it was sort of in spite of myself. In the games 2 and 3, he was made of awesome.

I somehow managed to avoid the spoilers, and so I was completely surprised by the fact that
Spoiler: 3-5
Edgeworth was the defense at first in case 3-5, and that I would get to play as him. My only bitch is that I didn't get to play as him for longer. It was supremely awesome to get to see his thoughts during the case (which were everything I hoped they would be), and to watch his interactions with the other characters. I really think that Capcom could pull off an Edgeworth-based spinoff game. Maybe something like Edgeworth Abroad? That way they wouldn't have to break with cannon by having him breat Phoenix, which he apparently can't ever manage to do.

Oh god, and it was so adorable how like every female character was practically throwing panties at him and he seemed so... bemused by it. It was perfect.

Obviously, GS3 did nothing but make me an even bigger Edgeworth fangirl. Swell. :edgy:

Edgeworth is Edgeworth is Edgeworth. You can see the signs of the confident lawyer he becomes as far back as GS1, and you can definitely still see signs of his emotional scars as far forward as GS3.

It's one of my least favorite devices in fiction for a very emotionally damaged character to run off, go through apparently amazing development offscreen, and then swoop back in to save the way, scars healed, confident and super-hero like, and I'm thrilled that PW didn't actually go in this direction with Edgeworth. To a degree he's healed, and he better understands his role as a lawyer--an "answer" Phoenix lacked in JfA, which was the point--but I also love that, on top of being a confident, kick-ass lawyer, you can still see that there's a lot of insecurity, a lot of progress to still make, beneath the surface. GS3 did a wonderful job illustrating this, though the end of JfA made me smile in regards to that, too. It makes for a layered character, whom you can't wave the wand of Deus ex Machina for and make all better.

Oh no, I totally agree with you there. I just think he's too one-dimensional in much of GS1. It's fine that he was "emo" in GS1 case 4, because who wouldn't be? And I loved that we got so much of his backstory. But if he had stayed that way for the rest of the series, I would have been sort of annoyed. If he'd just been "fixed" after that, it would have been pretty lame as well. They did an exceptionally good job building his character progression in these games.

Spoiler: "case 3-5"
For example, we know he's still scared of earthquakes and still hates Misty Fey, even after all the things that happened in GS1 and GS2. I thought that was surprisingly... realistic.

It is. If Edgeworth turned out to be the perfect lawyer after PW1, it would suck really badly. The fact that he has opened up more and yet still retains some of his traits from previous games is realistic and makes Edgeworth a great character. I love the gradual development he undergoes from being this winning machine in PW1 to a man with a better understanding of justice in PW3, it shows the great character development that happens throughout the course of the games.

I would like to point out that during that part of the game, all the love that I had for Gumshoe went out the window and I just wanted to reach through the DS and slap him, repeatedly.

Now I know why Edgeworth docks his pay so much.

I'm still coping with the giggles when I imagine Edgeworth wearing Iris' hood.

Hehehe... that would be funny. I reckon Phoenix huddled over in bed sneezing his head off with Iris's hood pulled over his shoulders presents a funnier image however. :phoenix:

Well if you try to show the hood to Bikini when you're playing as Edgeworth she does make you put it on. Sadly there is no mirror nearby.

*giggle* I remember that part! I so wanted to see Edgeworth in that hood!

And to whomever it was that said they wanted to slap Gumshoe, I totally agree. But I forgave him because he and Edgeworth were so awesome together on the first day of investigation. :redd:

THESE MUST BE THE PSYCHOLOCKS THAT WRIGHT WAS TALKING ABOUT.

...Er, yeah, I basically played almost all of that case at night in my bed... so when that happened it was midnight and I was so overtired I was laughing so hard. It just struck me as insanely funny.

Of course I enjoyed playing as him though. His character and personality are so enjoyable and humorous to watch happen, just like Phoenix -- though it was nice for a change. :]

And, of course, just Edgeworth himself is <3. :D

To me its kinda funny to play as Edgeworth because he has no clue how to defend like Phoenix because he doesn't know anything about Megatamas and Psyche Locks and no partner to help him.

Plus, if you noticed, both Larry and Bikini kinda hate him during the trial because of his "seriousness" look on them
