Now, Aiga Hoshiidake, he uses a lot of old Japanese words and often exclaims "SUVARI!". Well, fitting to this, I think he should speak like a British gentleman (i.e. Hello chaps, how are you this fine day?, and exclaim "EXCEPTIONAL!" often.
Anyone agree?

-Sliiiiiiiides into this topic-
I agree actually. Let's forget that I love this man to death for a minute.
British dialect would be fitting to his mannerisms and eccentric demeanor [remember he has a picture of himself in his office. ;D ].
Anyone know what suvari means, by any chance.....?

Now fangirls over the fact that this topic was made to begin with.

If Aiga was a woman, s/he could totally be named "Sheryl Locke"... But the fact is he isn't so let's move on.

Maybe I read too much 8-bit theater, but I kinda picture him saying "EXCELSIOR!" or something like that. ...Did I spell that wrong?

The English version Aiga might have to use a large, Shakespearian vocabulary to make him sound elevated and what not.

It would be cool if he used the Iambic Pentameter...

Aiga Hoshiidake is my favorite non-main character in the whole series. I find his very demeanor hilarious, and his character design appeals to me. I seem to have a weakspot for people with monocles. He has some of the best sprites I've ever seen in the series, as well.

I've played the first half of the second case in Gyakuten Saiban 3, and his whole nonchalant attitude and confidence in catching Kamen Mask just makes him even more lovable.

Spoiler:
I have to say, though, I suspected him of being Kamen Mask the very minute he said he wanted no other authorites involved, and also due to the fact he seemed to be an attention hog. Still haven't played the second half of the case, yet.

No poetry plz.

Seriously. Characters who speak in rhyme end up being more annoying than funny. Once in awhile perhaps, but not constantly.

I'm also for the British accent filled with big words. I like big words. There'd better be some I don't know in there.

I'd see a manga writer say that often, since it's a localization and it'd probably be a reference to Stan Lee.

I could see him either saying 'INDUBITABLY!' just for the sheer pomp factor, or 'ELEMENTARY!', if only because 1) it fits what 'zuvari!' comes from kinda sorta, and 2) the Holmes reference. Sal

As stated earlier in this thread, I think an old English vocabulary would suit Aiga very well, and some Sherlock Holmes quotes would make him an ace character (not that he isn't already).

I once stumbled across a YTMND a while ago, featuring classy verisons of the O RLY owls, in which, instead of the "O RLY? YA RLY, NO WAI!" titles, they speak in what seems to me as Old English.

When I saw this thread, I thought Aiga might speak like the owls in the YTMND I found.
http://classytrilogy.ytmnd.com/

I think that "Suvari!" could be replaced with "Great Scott!".

I think he'd need to just randomly blurt out some outdated/underused words, or just pepper them into his speech. Stuff like "exquisite!" and "exillerating!", among others.
