And when she talked about him with Grossberg, she seemed to have a hard time keeping her composure. He's the reason she took the case involving Phoenix, anyway. ^^

All of the above are good points, and there are also all of the recent awesomespiffyfantasticadorablemanIlove'em official snapshots of the two of them together. So while yes, we never get explicit confirmation from Mia's side of things, I think it's pretty safe to say they were together.

I recall someone saying that in the Japanese version their relationship was implied or referred to as ..."much stronger" on the terms they used.

And yes, the recent GS Snapshots. In particular, the Festival one especially, concerning the backstory of it.

I do think that Diego and Mia were together.. Due to the famous Mia and Grossberg conversation and other evidence. So its about 80% True in my opinion ^_^ :varanbaran:

But I just find that Diego Armando before and after becoming Godot is my favorite character.

BTW, I am a strong supporter of the Miego pairing, for some odd reason, since I usually don't do the whole pairing thing.

Miego is BY FAR the only pairing I will ever support in any game - we all know how damn cute they are together, and I'm an avid believer that they both got their Happy-ever-eternity ever afterward.

Godot is my 3rd favorite character, too after Phoenix and Maya.
I don't care how stupid he is for blaming "Trite" and all, he's just cool, badass and extremely funny.

I just want to point out that just because Grossberg referred to Diego as Mia's boyfriend doesn't necessarily say anything about what Mia felt for him, especially since she didn't really respond to Grossberg's remark. Everyone assumed that Dustin and Maggey were involved and even talking about marriage, but when you talked to Maggey herself, she denied it. You can't judge a relationship just by how other people view it, especially when Mia herself doesn't say word one about how she honestly felt about Diego.

As for the Japanese version, I don't recall any difference in wording or implication.

I think the creators wanted you to believe that they were together, but I think it's also possible to interpret it another way, as Flex suggested.

That being said, what about post 3-1? When Mia is channeled in 3-2, and 3-5 she isn't really all "that" happy to see her former boyfriend again (and don't tell me it wasn't obvious, the coffee addiction and the smile were dead givaways), despite that he obvoiusly still has feelings for her (he DID allow the final testimony of Luke Atmey jsut becuase he saw(or thought he saw) Mia helping Phoenix).

I never really questioned the nature of Mia and Diego's relationship. It's established in dialogue and out-of-game material, and strongly hinted to in other dialogue and in their chemistry. Diego/Mia, Gumshoe/Maggey, Max/Regina, Ron/Dessie, and Big Wins/Plum are the only 100% canonical pairings that I can think of.

As for definitive proof? Well, they never directly stated that they "rocked the Cashbah", but I believe that the evidence supports the point more than well enough. That should be enough, unless you believe the law is absolute. :garyuu:

To those of you arguing that Mia never specifically said anything about Diego: Mia never shares any details of her past life. Whenever she appears, it's to help/encourage Phoenix, so she stays professional.

Look how Mia jumped on the first case involving the woman who put Diego in a coma. And look how hard Mia fought to get Dahlia convicted, even going so far as to get Grossberg to dig up that old incident in which Dahlia poisoned Diego.

I don't know if her pursuit of Dahlia was driven by Diego's poisoning. It was definitely a factor, but I personally see her doing so to get her guilty of ALL her crimes. Dahlia was a thoroughly evil person who needed to be punished.
