When T&T was released over here (even though I already had the game from the states), I got to thinking; Edgeworth gets a different judge and Franziska in on Iris' trial so nobody will know he's a prosecutor yes? The reason he brings in the Judge's brother is because he's only met him once correct? But in the first game doesn't Phoenix mention multiple times about how he heard news reports about Edgeworth being a 'demon prosecutor'? So how is it that the Judge's brother didn't recognize him because of that? Yes both the Judge and his brother have terrible memories, but I would have thought Edgeworth was famous enough among the law world so that pretty much anybody in a court-room would recognize him. Not only that but he won the King of Prosecutor's award in the first game, although then again seeing as 1-5 was a bonus case I don't think that counts. Even Gumshoe makes a comment that pretty much everyone in the law world knows who he is. Well then again, maybe the Judge's brother is just THAT stupid, but I just thought it was something to think about.

I'm not coming back. I'm done with this fanbase. You're all up-tight, nit-picking, hypocrites who are TERRIFIED of change. Getting banned just for standing up for myself... I'm never coming back. Goodbye forever you brats.

Whenever things like this come up, and there's no real way to explain it, I just remember this refrain from the theme song of MST3k and apply it to the situation at hand.

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show, I should really just relax!"

Just change "show" to "game" or whatever it needs to be changed to, and go with it! XD

I love MST3k.

The Judge's brother does say he thinks he's seen Edgeworth before, but Edgeworth assures him that he hasn't. We all know how much the Judges listen to the attorneys. Of course, its usually the prosecutors, but who would say no/disgree with someone like Edgeworth?

And yeah, the judges tend to accept anything the prosecutors say - ESPECIALLY Edgeworth. I have to wonder if that particular instance was a subtle lampshading of this phenomenon.

I was wondering about that when I played that part.

I figured that since he's only actually prosecuted one trial in the country in the past two years, he's faded into obscurity.

Actually, this does make some sense. He'd been out of the country for a couple of years. He could have qualified as a defence attorney during that period. Perhaps what he was trying to avoid was less about people knowing that he's a prosecutor and more about people knowing that he isn't a defence lawyer. If that makes sense.

Makes sense to me.

It's made clear during 3-5 that attorneys can choose to switch sides. During the discussion where that comes up, Edgeworth even assumes that Godot was previously a Defense Attorney despite knowing nothing about the guy. Someone who remembered the news from 1-4 and 1-5 and knew that Edgeworth disappeared soon afterwards could easily come to the conclusion that he wanted a change in career.
