why is it that the version that is on disc and available to download is different to the one in the game?

You see, there are 4 versions of "Fragrance of dark coffe".
First, the one you're looking for is the in-game music.
Secondly, the orchestra version.
Third, Jazz version and the last is Cadenza.
So look for a downloadable file that doesn't say Orchestr, Jazz or Cadenza.

There's no Cadenza version of Godot's theme. If there was then I'd have it. Cadenza is only music from the first game.

However, there are 4 versions. The last one I speak of is actually the first version: the GBA-quality version. When T&T was re-released on the DS, they took the GBA version of the track and revamped it a little. If this is what you're speaking of, then the DS one has better quality than the GBA one. The one on the GS3 OST is the old GBA track, since the DS OST has yet to be released.

ah yes, the one I have and the one in the game sound similar, the only difference that I can hear is the main instrument, it's different on the T&T soundrack disc to the one in the game

Hm, now that is interesting. I just checked in the game and it didn't have that little sound change the one that you call the "game one" had.
