If Gumshoe was to move divisions to Gotham City Police will it benefit the capturing of Batman in anyway or will it just mess things up?

Interesting question...

I think that he'd probably get in the way of everyone. BUT THEN, there'd be a total crisis, and he'd come to the rescue. A sort of "Only you can save us now, Gumshoe!" moment.

I think they would bring him to the force, thinking that since he comes from such a famous police department he would be a big help, but he would end up being a failure. Until, through a series of complicated events, he would end up capturing Batman, only to decide to release him for the greater good of the city. He would then begin to work for Batman, who would proceed to cut his pay.

why not have atmey in gotham city?

He'd be arrested on the spot for impersonating the Penguin if he set foot in there lol

and Gumshoe gets too little money to move somewhere other than 7 blocks away from nowhere
