- The melody is disproportionately loud to the rest of the music in a lot of songs (Examination themes, Objection theme, Investigation themes).
- In some songs, the expression on a lot of instruments is too legato (as in, the notes are all sort of connected, and don't have much of an attack) compared to the original, which makes them sound even LESS like they're being played by real instruments (Court Lobby Overture, Distant Traces of Beauty, Godot's theme - although a big part of it for Godot's theme is that the sax on the DS version sounds awful).
- The opposite problem exists with the bass - a lot of the basslines are TOO attacked, which makes it sound less realistic (Trial Begins Theme, Investigation Opening).
- My favorite song in the game of all the ones I've heard - The 'Cornered' Theme - is inexplicably slower, and the drums - the part of the song that makes it really intense - is much quieter and sports much less dynamic variance (changes in volume).
I seriously hope that a lot of this has to do with the quality of the recording, which isn't a terribly big deal if it is. It sucks that the Cornered Theme is slower...augh. I'm really not excited to hear the music anymore. :/

I listened to a few of these and they unfortunately cannot be considered "Good Rips" but they are certainly rips. From several of the songs including most prominently Larry's theme, the left channel is missing some parts.
I would recommend VGMTrans to rip the music because it worked rather nice with the last Phoenix Wright games, but it fails horribly with Trials. Therefore, you would have to record it via emulator or the two-way.
Either way, the music is missing left channel sounds so this would need to be fixed to ever make it's way into my playlist :( Sorry for being so harsh.
EDIT: In fact, to make matters worse, these were recorded to mono too :(
Here's a rip I just made that is stereo and has proper channels. I do not plan on making anymore of these, this is just for comparison to the original Larry rip.

Around 0:33ish there is a Right -> Left sound effect that you will instantly notice is clipped out in the left channel of the original upload. I noticed this in a few other songs too though, so it's not just that one song.

Yeah, pretty much.
I'm no expert in sound, so I'm just recording them as they are. I recently changed my settings in Audacity to stereo but I don't really notice that much of a difference.
If anyone can create a good rip of the music, go right ahead. I'll still record the rest of the songs as planned for anyone who wants them all now.

Pretty good, but I still have trouble listening to Godot's theme, since the background's bass is really loud, and the sax parts are a bit choppy... (don't know if that's the fault of the audio ripper or not...)
I think I actually prefer what they did with Atmey's and DeMasque's theme, and I LOVE Tigre's theme. (The best of the series XD in my opinion, at least.)
I don't like Larry's theme... too much, anyway. I prefer the DS version, but I still don't like either of them that much, up until 0:36. Oh well.
Can't wait to hear the prologue themes, Especially "Recipe for Turnabout"

I have all the DS songs now except Godot's ring tone. When I was playing through Case 5 yesterday, I saved the game after the ring tone played. It should play during the final part of the trial.
