In the Japanese version, when Godot reveals his past, does he say that he asked Dahlia to come to the Courthouse, or does he say that she asked him?

Godot's profile and the Case summary make it sound like Diego asked Dahlia to meet him. The English version however:

"That's why...I could never forgive Dahlia Hawthorne. Mia and I thoroughly investigated that fake kidnapping incident. And then...one fateful day, Dahlia wanted to meet with me."

The English version doesn't make sense to me. Mia was the one defending Terry, admittedly, Diego helps her a few times, but it's mainly Mia pushing Dahlia as the murderer. Dahlia also has a definite reaction to Mia soon after she's put on the stand, most likely recognising the Magatama Mia wears. If Mia was also investigating the circumstances surrounding the kidnapping and Terry's death, it doesn't seem to make sense that Dahlia targeted Diego instead of Mia.

Diego asking Dahlia to meet with him, does seem to make more sense though. Whether or not Mia investigated the kidnapping as well, with Mia still being in pain after Terry's death, and Diego trying to protect Mia, it just seems more logical that it would be Diego to confront Dahlia.

It's not really important, it's just something I thought about while playing 3-5.

Dahlia asked Diego to meet her, because he knew too much about the truth, and she planned to kill him. No idea why she thinks he knew more about it than Mia, though.

She probably intended to kill both of them, but came too close to being caught? Or perhaps she noticed that Mia liked Diego, and thought it would hurt more to kill him? Or maybe she actually requested to meet with Mia, but Diego went instead?

She'd probably noticed that in Terry Fawles' case, Diego was actually the brain behind Mia.

I'll agree that it was probably just to hurt Mia. After all, Dahlia was a Fey too, so she probably understood a bit about death and channeling before her father took her and Iris away...

So, knowing that and knowing what we do about Dahlia's character, why would she just kill Mia straight off? Leaving her alone allows the opportunity for a lifetime's worth of revenge.

I'd have to disagree that Dahlia poisoned Diego solely to get back at Mia.

Mia mentioned in 3-1 that Diego was questioning Dahlia regarding 3-4. Recall also that while Mia was traumatized by that case, Diego was incredibly angry, and not willing to give up chasing down Dahlia. It makes sense that after this point he would carry out an independent investigation (Diego style) and might come up with something condemning. Given that Dahlia shows a consistent paranoia regarding the possibility of her past crimes being uncovered, she would have been careful to know if anyone was investigating her.

Perhaps recalling how close Diego and Mia had come to unmasking her, or possibly fearing that Diego might have discovered something, she called him and they talked. At this point I guess that Diego had some sort of damning evidence, since she waited until after they had talked for a while (and Diego to reveal what he knew) before poisoning him.

The problem with asserting that Dahlia poisoned Diego chiefly to get back at Mia is twofold. Since Mia had failed to actually do anything detrimental to Dahlia, there is really no point for Dahlia to take revenge. One might make the argument that Dahlia "remembered" Mia from her childhood, but she holds Kurain in contempt, so would be unlikely to care about her Fey lineage.

Still, even if Dahlia did know Mia, she would have to have some way of knowing that Diego and Mia were in a relationship before talking to him. She brought the poison with her, clearly forseeing a possible need to kill. Since, barring incredible coincidence, Dahlia had no way of knowing Diego and Mia were seeing each other, it sems unlikely. Dahlia has though, shown an incredible willingness to kill if even the slightest possibility exists of her being expsosed. I find it more likely that it was under threat of exposure that Dahlia struck, rather than for vengeance against someone who, up until that point had done nothing major to harm her.
