I'm intrigued by her in this game, as you can see by my other topic. I'm sure everyone was curious after the last game as to whether she would change (which seemed quite likely), and if so, exactly how. In this return, she expressed surprise at not facing Phoenix, and was still pretty much as arrogant as ever, but she made no attempt to influence witnesses or anything, unlike in JfA. Plus, she stayed with Phoenix when he got back to the temple instead of joining her colleagues, and made no attempt to dismiss anything Pearl said when confronted by her.

Any thoughts on our Franny in this game?

I thought she said the word "fool" a lot less than in JFA. There was a rather small altruistic streak I noticed in her, mostly through her interactions with Bikini in court and Iris at the temple. Oh and let's not forget her almost buying Larry some art materials if only it got him to stop using crayons for his portrait of her.

You'd figure a von Karma incapable of placing stock in the occult. In JFA I liked the way Franziska was open-minded enough to use her research on Kurain to build her case. TnT saw her helping the nuns break psycholocks, I suppose in a way Franziska is making up for her treatment of Maya.

We know she's a complete professional in her own right and is uncomfortable with dealing with people outside of the courtroom. The way she stopped short of explaining herself for 2-2 when Pearls scolded her was simply precious. She's opened up a tad in this game I think, even moreso in the ending where she came by to teach Adrian how to use a whip, for whatever reason I don't know but I'm sure her intentions were honourable.

Yeah she even almost agreed to model for him, and during the credits Larry says he went ahead with his "Franzy's Whip Lash Splash" thing.

What bugged me the most (after I'd finished flailing in glee at the fact Franziska had returned) was that we never got to see the Maya's 'masterpiece' returned to Phoenix. It kinda makes it seem like they just added that part into JfA as an afterthought.

I loved how a von karma with a whip got terrified by a 9 year old, so much for perfection

:pearl: she's so scary isn't she :D

I actually almost died laughing at that part. :moe-laugh:

Althought, thinking about afterwards, I don't think she was actually scared. It seems more like she was caught off-guard by it. :yuusaku:

Franziska's personality shifted between the two games and that's one scene where you can see the new Franziska reacting to her past. She, like Edgeworth, has finally broken from her father's brainwashing and she has matured some. I liked seeing Franziska come face to face with one of the wrongs from her past because you get to see this change highlighted more. In JFA, Franziska very much believed the ends justified the means and her only goal was to beat Phoenix in court, but here she sees the consequences of that attitude. So I'd say her reaction was more based on guilt and embarrassment than fear.

I really liked Franziska this time around. In AA2, she was amusing at times, but overall I didn't like her that much... she was just so violent, manipulative and her personally was pretty flat. But here, she's clearly matured quite a bit and is quite an enjoyable character now.
