On the second trial day when Dahlia reveals herself, does anyone else think the lightbulb should have clicked in his head that Maya was channeling her? There were only 3 people on that side of the bridge that could channel. Misty, Maya, and Pearl. Misty was dead obviously, so that leaves her out. Pearl couldn't possibly be it, even if she was missing. Otherwise Dahlia's hair woulda been brown instead of black (and also everyone woulda known something was up in that case. Nobody should be able to dye that much hair in the 5 minutes Iris and Dahlia switched places during an earthquake in the middle of nowhere. I honestly thought the hair thing would end up being something you'd point out for a while).

That leaves Maya. Dahlia probably never met Pearl before, so it's understandable why she wouldn't know about what Pearl looked like, but Phoenix really should have picked up on that. Especially once it was confirmed that Iris was the only one in the cavern by Godot's sudden phone call.

My only explanation is that he was so stunned by the whole thing, and so worried about Maya, that he wasn't thinking clearly.

Honestly, I didn't really connect the dots either until I realized Iris and Dahlia had actually switched places, and that Dahlia had to be channeled. So I only figured it out a little before Phoenix did...

But, it's not like he could have brought it up TOO much earlier. If Dahlia would have figured out that she was in Maya's body, she probably would have tried to kill herself, which is exactly what they were all trying to avoid.

I mean when they first realized the witness wasn't iris, but dahlia. Nick didn't realize until after godot helped him realize maya couldn't have jumped into the river, and all that fun stuff. I'd think he would have picked up on what was happening as soon as they realized it wasn't Iris, but Dahlia being channeled.

I figured it out as soon as I believed the witness was Dahlia. I had some thought at one point that the reason Pearl couldn't channel her was because Dahlia escaped form jail and didnt die or something.

Yeah, this is what I thought, too.

Maybe I'm just dumb, but I didn't catch on to the fact that it was actually Maya until right before the part where it's revealed as the truth. Things made no sense to me in some areas, and I knew there had to be some kind of huge catch to everything, but it was a hard one because the person on the stand looked just like Iris.

I just opened up my Case File and looked at all of the people with black hair.

Iris (Fey? Hawthorne? *shrug*) No spiritual power; locked in the cavern.
Detective Dick Gumshoe It would have been too hilarious to see Dahlia leave his body and Gumshoe appearing in the Training Clothes. Obviously, too funny to happen at a dramatic high point.
Miles Edgeworth No spiritual power.


So, it was obviously Maya.


Another part where Phoenix was painfully slow:

- (Hm, so Godot's mask went out? Did it fly off? What could have possibly happened with Godot's mask?)

- Hey, Trite, if the real killer got wounded, where's my knife wound?

- I FIGURED IT OUT, YOU WERE NAKED.

- The courtroom is no place for those with lechery in their hearts!

I was surprised that no one guessed it was Maya after it was revealed to be Dahlia on the stand. Dahlia was dead, so someone had to be channeling her and there were simply no other options for who could have done this. The only possibilities were Pearl and Maya, but since we see Pearl after Dahlia pretending to be Iris shows up (and her hair is light brown), it couldn't have been her. You would think by this point Nick would enough experience with this stuff to figure it out.
