Now is it just me or does the way Edgeworth say 'HOLD IT!' & 'TAKE THAT!' seem a bit... off?
When you take over Edgeworth for that short amount of time in case 5 I think the way he says them 2 phrases were done by another voice actor. I love Edgeworth's 'OBJECTION!' It's my favourite, but I thought the other 2 sounded weird.
That is my theory anyway. Although, when the credits came up for the game end, it only has once person as the voice actor of Edgeworth.

His objection sounds cool. His Hold It sounded erm...ok i guess.
His Take That was just awful. Made me cringe.

I found this link that shows all the voices of characters in different languages, english included. Edgeworth is first. Listen to his objection then the rest sound different.

Pretty sure it's the same voice actor. The Objection was recorded two years before the others were, so either his voice changed over time or he just had trouble getting back into character when all he had to go by was a recording of one word.

Yeah, they were a little different, but he still has my favorite voice. Godot's and Payne's made me sad, but I'll rant on that some other time :godot:

I don't know why everyone is complaining about his voice. It sounds like the same voice actor to me. I think it just sounds weird cause we're so used to only hearing Phoenix say "Hold it" and "Take that". I was surprised at first too cause it was different, but I got used to it and I think he sounds awesome.

Yeah, it never bothered me. But then Godot and Payne's voices don't bother me either.

Me neither. And I tend to be picky when it comes to voice actors too so if it doesn't bother me, it must not be that bad. And I listened to the voice clips again for Edgeworth and the only difference I can see is the quality of the audio really. His new clips sound much clearer, so that may be why some think it sounds weird.

Edgeworth's OBJECTION! is freakin' sexy in its fine, fake wanna-be british accent.

His Hold It and Take That! clips are just plain horrible. D: It sounded fake, and muffled, and so different from his objection.

To me, his OBJECTION is a bit higher pitched (still deeper than Phoenix's) and his Hold It! and Take That! are just... ugh. Well, Hold It! is okay, but could have been better, and his Take That! is just ugh.

I like Edgeworth's voice completely. I think it came out extremely well. I was always a bit disappointed that we only heard him say "Objection" in the previous two games. I'm really happy that he got more voiced parts.

Am I the only person who doesn't think his voice is "English-sounding"? He sounds American to me, like all the other character voices. I'm listening to his voice clips a bunch of times, and I'm not hearing an English accent, or even a fake one.

It isn't English-sounding, but I believe the point of Edgeworth was to be a snooty, British/English-wanna-be sort of accent. It would fit his character. Though I admit it's hard to hear the accent in but two or three syllables in one or two words. XD

I happen to LOVE how his HOLD IT! and TAKE THAT!, came out. He made my heart melt, with that sexy voice of his. I thought his OBJECTION! was great but all three put together, rawr. And yes, it's the same voice actor, they wouldn't change that.

The only sorta-British sounding part of his five words is the "That" in "Take That!". He says it like.... "Thaaht."

Also, spoiler tags in the title? Seems like a big one.

To me, it sounds like a mix of European and American, like one or the other has lived abroad - which is about right for the character *shrugs*.

iawtc -- Rawr indeed.

And I wouldn't say that he sounds English, just like he's american and has spent a large amount of time in Europe.

I actually have his "OBJECTION!" as the text message alert on my mobile phone. Heheh! *I'm so sad!*

I have Phoenix's on there as well but as it's pitched higher I found it didn't stand out as much in a noisy room.

Yer I definately agree. Maybe it is just the quality of the sound that was played, but still, that little change annoys me :edgeworth:

Sexy. Sexy. And more sexy! I adored his voice and did my fair share of pressing in court as well just to hear it. It's so dreamy... :) *ahem* :bellboy:

Anyway, I found the "TAKE THAT!" a little weird for the simple reason that I wasn't used to hearing it from him but it was ok after I got used to it....after repeatedly pressing testimony! :)

I don't hate it, it's quite funny...the 'Take That' sounds like an impression of a posh voice...it sounds very stupid, but very funny....

I swooned when Edgeworth said Take That.

It does sound a little bit different but it's definately the same voice actor.

Question. Did the Japanese versions have voiced clips for Edgeworth's hold it and take that in the first two games?

That sounds like me in the first game! :moe-laugh: There was one part in Case 3 where Phoenix and Edgeworth were objecting back and forth and I hit the "press" button repeatedly just so I could hear Edgeworth's objection a few dozen times or so and then went on with the game.

@KingMobUK: For some reason or other, Manfred von Karma's voice REALLY gave me a bad case of the creeps. It sounded so *thinks* guttural and evil which, when you think about it, it kind of fits since he is the villain of the piece! :) Just thinking about it gives me the chills.
