If Godot's mask ACTUALLY blew up, and we got to see what he looked like under there (yeah I know we ALREADY know what he looks like...but you know...).

In fact, maybe he could have died right there on the prosecutor's bench, after delivering a badass final speech.

While that would be intese, I think that this game has had quite enough people dying in the courtroom. One is enough for now.

Plus I love Godot. Witnessing his death would wreck psychological ruin on me. :godot:

I was surprised when Godot didn't die right there. A bit more surprising was that he apparently DID die eventually as a result from the blood. Yet he felt he had time to stay there and drink coffee with Phoenix.

Yeah, I was expecting him to take off his mask at some point. He didnt. It's like the writers forgot completely about him after his closing speech. He just kinda vanished.

I was also hoping that Dahlia would try to commit suicide while in Maya' body. They didnt do that either. Again, I am certain the writers all had heart attacks halfway through the second day of investigation and a bunch of illiterate third graders wrote the remainder of the game.

It would've been really epic if someone in the main cast died o_o.. *hides from the mobs*

Don't get me wrong, I love the entire cast, but since we already know they won't be coming back in GS4, why not go out with a bang? To be honest, there were a couple of times in case 5 when I seriously thought maybe Maya WAS dead.. cuz stupid Dahlia and Morgan kept saying so. And I kept thinking, "OMG... if Maya DID die, maybe something HUGELY epic might happen at the end of this case!" That same kind of heavy weight feeling I had when I first saw Phoenix's "holding his head" sprite in JFA when he realized Maya could die. I wasn't all that bothered when Mia died in 1-2, but THIS could've been heart-wrenching! I spent 3 games with these characters and I don't mind a good tear-jerker if it brought along an amazing story. Please don't kill me for suggesting this... :sadshoe:

I was thinking the same thing, especially about Dahlia committing suicide. Maybe she just couldn't with everyone just right there... Not so sure I was expecting Godot to take off his mask, it crossed me, but I didn't think he'd actually do it...

To be honest, my hypothesis is quite gruesome now that I think about it. I was expecting her to start bashing her head into the witness stand to death. Or maybe whip out that lovely pendant of hers. The symbolism would be epic.

You know what I'm with you...kinda. I don't think Mia had an impact on anyone as you didn't know her at all at that point. I don't think I would have wanted a major death in 3-5 though. I found that case sad enough as it is. Heck I replayed the ending section like 5 times. (From where Nick makes his final attack on Godot and shows where he hid the injury) and I cried every time. No book has ever managed that on the first read through even but this managed to do it every single time!

I wouldn't mind a main death later in GS5 onwards though. I think it would make a brilliant case if someone from Phoenix's arc got killed off providing it was written well enough. Though I also feel that would mean someone from that arc would end up being the killer. I know that if there was a case like that I would definetly end up crying...heck the ending to 1-4 brought a tear to my eye and all that happened then was Maya left. >.<

Why are you so fixated on wanting Godot to die? God, go play Sonic Adventure 2 or something. XD

I liked that the ending was dramatic, not traumatic. Godot's character evolved in that scene, coming to the realization that all these years, he'd been placing the blame on the wrong man to save himself from the guilt, and from the truth. I personally thought it was made epic enough when the camera panned over and we saw Phoenix with a cup of coffee. Frikkin' awesome.

That and I was sooo happy to be right about Iris the whole time. I hope she and Phoenix continue their relationship one day.

Also, we did have a pretty major death in the fifth case: Misty Fey. It's not that we didn't go through the games knowing her the whole time, but we knew of her, and we knew that she loved her daughters very much. Damn shame.

Dangit. This thread keeps giving me ideas. First, and I know I'm not the only one to think of it, I want to make a signature with Godot on it and the tag "My name is Diego Armando. You killed my girlfriend. Prepare to die." Second, Franzise's suggestion about Mia cremating Godot put me in mind of her putting on the mask and then going all Cyclops on him. And third, I don't know what brought this to mind, but all the talk about Godot dying and... someone's signature, I can't remember whose it is, led me to think "So, Maya channels Terry, and he eats the Yummeh Toastah Face to death."

It's assumed he either died or will soon.

He mentioned needing to take regular trips to the hospital to stay alive, he was convicted of murder so that's pretty much guaranteed a death penalty in PW world, and he was on the "dead people" half of Laurice's sketch at the end of the credits.
