Its a shame you never really get a chance to see them inter-act. It would be interesting to know what kind of relationship they really have. when you actually talk to Iris about Dahlia, you're actually talking to...well, you've played the case.

On top of that, I wish they'd take more time to develop Iris' character and really explain how she ended up in Hazakura, and not simply back in Kurain.

About that kidnapping scene, I wish they'd explain what Iris was intended to do in that plan, if you follow the clues, it was apparently Iris' idea to steal the diamond for monetary purposes.

I agree -- wish we could have seen more of their interaction, and more details of their past.

However, I disagree on the last point. Iris was involved in the kidnapping plot, but not the actual case being tried in 3-4.

Didn't Dahlia specifically say in 3-5 that Iris bailed on them in the kidnapping plot? Or Dahlia, disguised as Iris, refers to "herself" as a traitor. I think that was part of the reason Dahlia was willing to put the blame in Iris through Morgan's plan.

I think she said something to that effect. I can't remember what she said exactly right now, though... I'm pretty sure Iris herself actually says something about being involved in the kidnapping after she comes back though. I don't know, that part is really confusing. D:

Anyway, I completely agree, I really wanted to see what kind of dynamic they had between the two of them. I was actually pretty disappointed that we never got to see any kind of interaction between them.

I really want stress my second point.

Why is she in Hazakura instead of Kurain?
Does she know Morgan is her mother? (prior to Case 5)

Bikini actually does tell you that Morgan had three daughters, one of them being Iris.

I tell ya, they really should've added some of this to Case 5. It would really spice up the drama, and help everyone understand Iris better

I don't think there was really any secret about it -- secrecy only comes into play after Dahlia fakes her death. And I imagine Bikini, being the head of her respective temple and one of the older family members, keeps track of family goings-on.

Why drop Iris at Hazakura instead of sending her back to Kurain? Probably just petty cruelty on her father's part; I think he wasn't willing to do anything that might make Morgan happy.

Morgan only cared about gaining back her lost honor by making Pearl head of Kurain. Dahlia even tells us that at first Morgan was prepared to kill her to make the plan work, knowing that Dahlia was her daughter. Neither Dahlia nor Iris had enough spiritual power to be head of Kurain, so to Morgan, they were expendable. She didn't even care about what killing Maya would do to Pearl (particularly if Pearl was the one responsible, even unknowingly). She is not concerned with her children's welfare, just regaining the honor she lost when Misty surpassed her.

I doubt that. She was pretending to be Iris, so it only makes sense that she would act like her.

I don't see why she'd act any differently. She doesn't go *avatar* until Mia exposes her Happy Smiling Sunshine Face as a facade.

Not to say I wouldn't have liked an investigation phase with her as well.

I think the kidnapping occurs after Iris is dropped off at Hazakura Temple, so she wouldn't be involved.

Why would that matter? Hazakura Temple is just around the corner from Dusky Bridge.

Besides, Iris specifically said she was supposed to be in on the kidnapping but bowed out at the last second.

Well, I think that if the character of Dahlia and Iris developed any more than it already had, people might show sympathy to a character who the creator believed deserved none, i.e. Dahlia. For example, in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy directed by Peter Jackson, there were enemy units known as Oliphaunts. The Oliphaunts, as you might guess, closely resembled elephants, but Peter Jackson deliberately made them have unamiable traits in order for audiences not to show sympathy towards them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oliphaunt#In_adaptations

Yeah, I sympathized with her, as well.

Actually, that's what makes her awesome. She turned out pretty much evil, but it wasn't all her fault. She deserved her fate, but I feel bad about her situation.

Wouldn't you like to see more backstory on Iris? Wouldn't you like to see how Morgan or anyone else in her family interacts with her?

Franzise wasn't referring to you; the previous poster said "people might show sympathy to a character who the creator believed deserved none," referring to the Phoenix Wright creators. If that was the case, the creator failed in the endeavor because some of us do feel sympathy for Dahlia.

And I'd have loved to see more of all the things you listed. Iris saying that Dahlia wasn't always evil is really the most you hear of her opinion, and I'd love to know what their childhood was like and how the twins' relationship changed as Dahlia changed.
