Okay, so there's quite a lot of repeats and remixes in this game, but there are also a whole lot of super beautiful original tracks composed by the brilliant Noriyuki Iwadare (of Lunar and Grandia fame! This guy freakin' rocks!). So what are your favourite tunes from this game?

I think my number one track from this game would have to be Police Cell ~ Elegy of the Captured. It's totally something that I would compose if I were in his position, and it's so simple and beautiful. I often love slow piano tracks in games, and this is certainly no exception. When it plays, it makes the whole scene more desolate and eerie, it's beautiful stuff. :acro:

I also love Godot - The fragrance of dark coffee, it's so groovy and mysterious. Perfect for someone who drinks coffee all the time and says "Ha!..." :godot:

Some of the goofy upbeat tracks are really neat too, especially Takabishiya/Lordly Tailor Department Store, and Warehouse Tiger. :zenitora:

Anyway, it's a great soundtrack! So what are your favourite tracks? :keiko:

EDIT: Is it okay to post up game audio rips here? Not that it would be hard to find elsewhere if you wanted to... :edgy:

Yes, Fragrance of Dark Coffee is a smash hitter. But GS3 has very little 'bad' music, so to speak.

My favorite has to be Inform The Truth - 2004 and Cross Examination - Moderate/Allegro. I would say Investigation - Cross-Examining, but the version that isn't a "Variation" sounds so slow and underwhelming. It's like they did nothing to the original track.

1. Warehouse Tiger.
2. Mask DeMasque - Please Listen!
3. Examination ~ Moderate/Allegro
4. Objection! ~ 2004
5. Police Cell - Elegy of the Captured or Luke Atmey - Star Dignity

I'm only on case 3 but I am in love with all the courtroom music, plus Godot's theme. This game owns my soul.. the music in this one has to be the best of the series.

Hahaha, I didn't know he did True Love, but yes that game does have a really good soundtrack. But I've found that a lot of my favourite game music groups are involved with that kinda stuff... MintJam comes to mind, and the soundtrack to Air was amazing too. :hotti:

And the courtroom tracks are quite dark and serious this time around, I think, much moreso than with Justice For All at least. I like it!

Definetly this.

The regular trial music is by far the most dark and epic in the whole series. And rightly, the best.

Also, I love Star Dignity. Then again, I have a soft spot for Luke, being as I really like his character. Also, I found Justice for All to have the best "Elegy of the Captured", slightly better than the theme found in this game.

I'm not sure why, but from what I remember, nobody really liked that track. A shame, really, it's somberness, hint of solitude, and general calmness personified the position of being, well, "Contained or Captured".

I'm surprised "Cornered, 2004" hasn't been mentioned before. In my opinion, it tops "Cornered, 2001" by a bit. And it's just so good I can't believe everyone doesn't have it on their list.

The reason why Investigation ~ Cross-Examination has not been mentioned is because people think it doesn't sound as epic in the DS version as it was in the GBA version.

And frankly, after playing Case 1, I agree with them. It sounds so slow and small. :sadshoe:

Not sure on the Variation, though...

I second this. I remember how awesome it sounded in GS3, but I think that the DS version pales a little bit compared to the GBA version. I think I'll have to listen to it myself on my DS when I buy the game.

GS3~TRIAL MUSIC IS <3!

The one that comes when you enter the court at the beginning of the trial is the most beautiful thing in GS that I've ever heard.

Cross-examination music is win as well though.

I too, love the Court opening music. I have an orchestrated version of it ("Gyakuten Saiban 3 - Courtroom Suite" from the Gyakuten Saiban Orchestra Album) and it's positively wonderful. :phoenix:

"Gyakuten Saiban 3 - End" makes me teary eyed. It just sounds so downbeat and miserably sad. This is also probably because I know it marks the end of the Phoenix story arc. :larry:

Lets see here...

Investigation themes: Best ones are probably Search–Middle and Traces of Distant Beauty. Search—Core 2002 was ovreused so much it made me mad. It belongs only in JFA, dammit!

Reminisciences: All of them were really good. And freaking dark. The last two cases, especially the fourth one, were very noir in part because of the times that these musics played. Shadow on Oboro is really good. I like the bitter taste of truth as well.

Court Music: Fantastic, all of it.

Um... Turnabout Sisters 2002! *shot*

I know, it's not from this game. :-P

Okay, I REALLY like Examination ~ Allegro. Really catchy. I also liked Mask*DeMasque's theme (which is apparently called "Please Listen!")

Also, for some reason, even though I hated it before I played the game, I'm now really fond of Search ~ Opening 2004, and I have no idea why. :eh?:

Frangrance of Dark Coffee has been my favorite since months before I even played the game. It's amazing, and so are its orchestra and jazz versions.

Distant Traces of Beauty, Elise's theme, and shoot, any new song from case 5. They all sound too good.

The Tiger's theme was great, too. I'm sure there are more, but I can't think right now.

One thing I didn't like was how much they used Cornered-2002 in court(I think that's what it's called, anyway). I know it was only used 3 or 4 times in Justice for All, but c'mon. Moderation.

Consider me another fan of Turnabout Sisters 2002 over 2001. I just like the melody variation and flourished styling of the 2002 arrangement more.

I love the fact that Iwadare attempted to make GS3 a more thematically consistent soundtrack, from designated character themes, to the two overarching main theme that follows throughout. (The two main themes being the constant reprisals of the new Court Begins piece, as well as the Turnabout Sisters Theme, which caps off the trilogy nicely by the time the end credits roll.) I've always been a fan of GS3's trial music the most; the Examination themes are the absolute best and Pursuit ~ Cornered 2004 (especially Variation) even more so.

The sad themes are great, and though Light & Shadow of The Film Studio from GS1 will always have a place in my heart, The Bitter Taste of Truth ranks up there as my new personal favorite. Investigation ~ Middle 2004 is my favorite of the Investigation themes, and although I enjoy Tell The Truth 2004 enough, it can't quite touch GS2's Tell The Truth 2002.

The reprisal of Pursuit ~ Cornered 2001, particularly Variation, was something I was looking forward to hearing all throughout Trials & Tribulations, and while I appreciate they didn't just lift it from GS1 DS, I too will have to agree that it doesn't quite have the edge from the original GBA GS3.

1. Distant Traces of Beauty / Dahlia's Theme.
2. Arrival Melody (Godo) -- :D
3. Police Cell (Elegy of the Captured)
4. Beauty Hermitage ~ Tres Bien.
5. The Fragrance of Dark Coffee ~ Godo
6. Investigation (Cross Examination) (Variation)
7. Mysterious Masked Person ~ PLEASE HELP!

Of course from the actual GBA OST.
I can't judge until I have a proper game rip, like JFA's rip.

'Star Dignity' (Atmey's theme) and 'Please Listen!' (Ron DeLite's theme). They're awesome, and set the atmosphere very nicely. Ah, I loved Case 2.

Though I think listening to Star Dignity on a loop made me go a bit mad. There can be too much of a good thing...

seems like the song I like is called special blended mix from the GS3 bonus cd (special blend mix.)

Sadly, it is too short on that track.
