Okay, in JFA we learn that Kurain = matriarchy, outside world = patriarchy. Then in T&T, we learn that a lot of men in Kurain don't like being second-class citizens, realize "hey, there's a world where I can have the power instead two hours away", and hit the road.

What I'm wondering is if it works the opposite way around, too - if women from the city ever leave for a society where they have more weight? Or is Crazy Spirit Medium Land too weird or remote to consider? :yuusaku: Just a random train of thought.

well, if you think about it, the village is a matriarchy because women carry spiritual power. That is, women of the Fey legacy

Its not like any woman can come in and say, "I have a vagina, lemme be in charge!"

Yeah, but it's the setup of society. It's not like anyone could just walk in and demand a position of power or something, the world doesn't work that way, but just to be treated better. You see?

Anyone who is a Fey, can remain there.

I mean, remember Ini? She didn't count as a member whe she went there (Granted, that wasn't why she went but still.....)

I get what you're saying, I just felt like making a post with the word 'vagina' in it. Don't ask me why.

On a serious note, anyone is welcome to visit and/or stay overnight apparently, but to have permanent residence, you must be a Fey

I thought that was just because she was "studying" there, not residing. I don't remember anyone saying the village was closed to the family.

Hmm... lets see here... well, technically, Maya doesn't spend a lot of her time in Kurain, according to JFA and T&T, but then again, she doesn't return much, but she DOES still go there... hmm....

Since we're talking about Kurain - what was that statue in the Spare Room again? The one that looks like a badger?

Okay, guess it is a bear after all. The script says so, thus it must be true. :notes:

I wonder if I could get away with having Pearl mix it up with a badger... especially if it's true that it's Ini Miney's, which she claims (also in the script! :notes: ), and got left there.

Hmm... probably not. Unlike me, Pearl can just walk up to it and probably realize that it looks more like a bear up close.

You want a winning act? Here's an Idea: She sees Gumshoe dancing with the Badger, and walks up and says something like "Mr. Scruffy, Detective, what are you doing?" or something.
