Why does Mia say "in fact" so much?

I don't know why Mia says In Fact so much, though ... maybe something similar to the foolishly foolish speech patterns of Franziska?

Mia seems to be a bit motherly. I think it might have something to do with that. =/

She insults him because he really needs to be slapped and I was actually rather disappointed that she never did hit him. I was waiting! I love Phoenix, but his younger self drove me nuts. As for "in fact", I think its just her speech pattern. Not to mention she is having to correct things in court so that the truth come out. It's not this because in fact it is actually this. I really didn't notice. Perhaps I was too focused on wanting to hit young Phoenix. :nick:

While Mia seems pretty calm and collected, she has her own buttons as well. The court room is a battle field where these small quirks can present themselves.

I found Mia's harassment of Grossberg funny and absolutely deserved. He really should have kept those comments about his hemorrhoids to himself... I liked him better when we was talking about the scent of his youth or whatever.

I also wondered if maybe Mia had jealousy issues (which would make the whole thing even more funny), but she didn't really know Phoenix yet then, did she?

Mia appears to have dumped a lot of emotional attachment onto Phoenix over that one particular case. The reason being her will to finally end the trauma from her first case. Just imagine what people would think of you if every one of your clients attempted suicide at the end of their trials. o_O *runs*

I would say the anxiety patterns show up really well but it's not for obvious reasons until you play through case 4. Until that point it seems to be jealousy when in fact, it's not. :sick:

Any arguement against this can be easily invalidated. The way 3-1 started off was probably making Mia feel like her trial was becoming a repeat of her first one. I'd say it was close enough.

I didn't notice that much either, but all in consideration, perhaps we can think that Mia is simply accustomed to using "In fact" for word flow? If you've ever found yourself using a word quite often during formal speeches maybe not even to buy time, but just as a transition, it sounds sensible.

I suppose looking at people's speech patterns, those little crutches become evident after a while.

Mia's "In Fact" really didn't jump out at me, and I actually didn't notice it until you pointed it out.

Mia says "in fact" so much for the same reason Apollo always says "recall". Although, I don't know what that reason is, but, there probably is one. As for Mia hitting Grossberg, it was very likely out of jealousy.

Personally, I found that Mia saying "in fact" all the time, is not as annoying as Diego calling Mia "Kitten" all throughout 3-4 (plus all the various references to "claws").
