So MANY of them! This is even worse than JFA... brilliant localization, but marred by typos.

We know that if we just let it alone, nothing will happen (it didn't with JFA).... any chance that we could maybe do something? Wooster, Croik, you sort of know Lost... maybe we could compile a list of the typos and see if maybe he can pass them on to the localization team? Because as it stands it's sort of shoddy work marring an amazing localization.

This is why I'm waiting for the European version like last time around: A lot of the typos were fixed including the infamous "The miracle never happen".

Due to the Japanese language being difficult to translate into English.

BTW, I just got my copy. *fanboy squeal* Also, this is completely unrelated but I'm eating Subway for dinner. Yay, Subway!

Indeed it is! :phoenix: However, I don't think that's the reason for the typos, as I'm more inclined to think that they're out of lack or proofreading or rushed typing, as what you said would seem to be the repercussions of a bad localization. :keiko:

However, I'm tired, so if I'm babbling nonsense, please forgive me. Anyways, my stance on the matter of typos is always this: if we can get in touch with Lost (via Croik, most likely), and for some reason, he can contact the localization team to fix it, great! Let's see if we can make it happen.

Wooohooo! Typos! :gant:

I've got to be the only one on the forums that likes the GBA version better (yet can't understand Japenese), and likes all the typos too. :edgy:

You know, that's actually rather ironic. When referring to human error, they actually spell it "humun" error.

Huh.

Aww come on, typos make for hilarity. Remember the infamous "This guy are sick" in FFVII?

I found a few in JFA, and they were ignorable. Funny, but ignorable.

There's considerably more than a few in this game, and it really takes you out of otherwise great moments.

Beginning of 3-3: "You've got to eat a of cake during New Year's!"

Guessing supposed to be 'a lot'

Never mind the typos! "Argh! The First Case!" That was so damn hard for a starting case!

Spoiler: 3-1 spoiler
How is the player supposed to figure out that the snapped wire was caused by Phoenix pushing Doug into the pole!? They're never very clear on these types of matters! And, for some strange reason, I never trust the witnesses. =/

Speaking of which, I just beat it. Took me a good five/and-a-half hours to do it, though. Christ, I'm slow! DX

It has to be translated into French, German, Spanish and Italian before it can be released in the UK. I expect it will be released in early 2008.

The most prominent and chronic typo I noticed was "then" instead of "than". Like "More then" or "other then" which really bugs me.

Other typos haven't really bothered me too much.

Yeah, that fan translation, and the ship scene in general, was highly exagerrated.

When you mentioned typos, I thought you were speaking of the GBA one, Dee. How about the fact they used "Kangaroo" instead of "Ragnarok"? I'd say that's a bit of a problem. :keiko:

ACtually I think that's an accepted alternate spelling.

I'm used to saying "doofus" so that's why I pointed it out.

EDIT: Also, I've noticed that throughout Case 2 they constantly refer to DeMasque's emblem as a "broach" when the proper spelling for it should be "brooch".

-Broach: A spit for roasting meat
-Brooch: A clasp for pinning a piece of clothing to other material

I understand well what you're saying, but actually, broach is an accepted alteration of "brooch". While I don't often use the term, I often say "Broach" myself. I always thought it referred to some sort of emblem worn about the neck or something that's worn on the chest in some manner.

All I'm suggesting is that it's possible that may not be an error and actually correct. However, I'm as prone to error as anybody else, so correct me if you see something wrong. :phoenix:

This is why they delayed the game in the US, right? So they could proofread the script?

Because this is the Japanese dual-language, they're prob'ly fixing the typos for the English release. They may be reading this thread to find them, so start pointing some out!

Meh, they're only typos. It's not like they changed the whole game to cover them up or anything. Then again, I'm not much of a "Grammar Nazi" unless the mistakes make the majority illegible, which hardly seems to be the case.

Besides, it's not like typos have always been terrible. "The miracle never happen", after all.
