He is suggesting that there is a motif (read: general theme connecting otherwise separate things together) of disguise to the cases in T&T:
In 3-1, Dahlia disguises herself as an innocent, caring person, and you later find out that the Dahlia in court is not the "Dahlia" that Phoenix knows; Iris disguises herself as Dahlia.
In 3-2, the case centres around a costumed thief; the very definition of a disguise.
In 3-3, Furio Tigre disguises himself as both Glen Elg and Phoenix Wright to create a witness and frame Maggey Bryde for the murder of Glen Elg.
In 3-4, Dahlia disguises herself as Valerie after killing her to once again implicate Terry Fawles; this time for Valerie's murder.
In 3-5, Dahlia this time disguises herself as Iris - the exact opposite scenario to 3-1, and then attempts to implicate Maya for the murder of Elise Deauxnim.
It's a very interesting observation, and it leads to the next question: is there such a motif in PW:AA and JFA, and if so, what is it?
