Maybe he went by that name before? When he was a defense attorney? Seems unlikely though.

Except his name isn't Diego in the original Japanese. So that doesn't work.

Because Godot, (as in the play), is one big mystery and Godot, (as in the game) is also sort of a mystery.
We don't know much about either one.

Maybe Diego was a fan of Beckett. ^^

I believe Croik said at one point that the Eagle River was called the Godo River in the original.

Well, since the play is french...
I pronounce it with a silent t and both "o" as... well... the french eau.

I think there's probably a silent t, but I just say "GO-dot (pronouncing the t)"

Oh yeah? Explain the reference then when applied to his japanese name, Kaminogi Souryuu.

This is the only sensible explanation, not some stupid crap about his english name, thank you very much.

I dunno anymore. I have a wierd interpretation of some words. Ga-dot seemed like a reasonable pronunceation.

Besides, it sounded epic, and seemed to go along with his character.

If you know the play, the pronounciation is the same. (GOH-DOH)

The 't' is silent. Just go look up his character description right here on courtrecords, it says so right there. :godot:

Why would he take the 2 last letters of his 1st & last name and then add a T to make his fake name?

Go-Dot.

Go-Dot.

IT'S NOT GO-DOT. It's in Court-Records as Guh-doh. (or Goh-doh)

Why would he do that? Because it's the simplest way to change your identity. Don't tell me you don't know why he'd do that.

That's right, in Japanese ゴドー is pronounced as "Godou", so that's not "Go-dot".

Why the heck are people getting mad at how we pronounce it? We just like it that way. If you don't like it deal with it.

I like pronouncing it Go-Dot. It's so much better and unique. For me, saying Guh-Doh sounds flippen retarded. Atleast, Go-doh is better.

Yeah, I think people are getting way too worked up over how to pronounce a name. o_O I'd never heard of Waiting for Godot before this, so I pronounced it go-dot... It doesn't really matter, anyhow.

That would make the most sense. And then it was spelled like the play... The river allowed Dahlia to create a new identity, and because he wanted to, I suppose he figured that he might as well take the name of the river XD
