I can't say it's "wrong" but... I found something in one of the scans of the magazines in jpgirl's skydrive documents:
Spoiler: official timeline

I know that in the timeline of AJ on CR, the year when AJ takes place is controversial. And now with the "official" announcement, it can be confirmed, that AJ takes place in 2025, not 2026 as we (almost all of AA fans) thought

so the timeline http://www.court-records.net/timeline4.htm could be "updated" and there would be nothing like ages contradiction in the whole timeline though we find it a little strange. :udgy:

A japanese wiki has also mistaken for it http://www13.atwiki.jp/gyakusai/pages/8.html

... I always thought that it was in 2025 :eh?:

You could post it here, and Croik or Wooster could fix it.

Well, shit. This is kind of cool. Although...I feel like the age contradictions would still exist, because they were there before the seven-year-gap anyway, and we're never going to get official birthdays for these characters, ever, which is kind of depressing. :sadshoe:

And suddenly, I'm thinking about how Capcom can't count. There are NOT seven years between February 2019 and April 2025. Numbers just don't work that way, and I don't think rounding up works in this case. XD I mean, being in 2025 fits with Phoenix's age as stated in AJ, but...but...*brain asplode*

The dates (as in day of the month, not year) on State vs. Gramarye are wrong as well -- they're too late. Unless there was a change between JP and US versions?

The timeline says Magnifi died on April 23, and the trial was April 29, but it says April 13th/19th in the game. Assuming the scripts I've got are correct -- I don't have my copy of AJ with me.

That also makes Zak's death line up more closely with 6/7 years later, whichever it is.

The age gap can be fudged by just deciding that they're the ages at some point in the time the games span and just ignoring birthdays, but 6 not being equal to 7 is just screwed up.

When AJ came out there was a pretty big debate about this and because there was no way to conclusively resolve the age problem it was eventually put to a forum vote as to whether to treat AJ as being set in 2025 or '26. We decided on 2026.

Oops.

Or is it CAPCOM's "oops"? :P
Does we even do these things anymore?

I don't remember there being a "vote," but the fact that Zak's death was 7 years after his disappearance is a fairly major plot point, and points to it being 2026. We could fudge it to 6 but that changes the very nature of the law in the AA world... It's not a pretty situation.

The reason for the mix-up is the same behind the birthday issues, with the way the Capcom timeline does not really allow for straddling the new year.

Does someone has PW on the wii?
Maybe CAPCOM fixed the age contradictions...

...or maybe they just copied and pasted. D:

EDIT: FFFFF- I just noticed I revived an old thread. I'm sorry! >0<

I was just checking if they were 2010 posts because I still feel like it's early 2010.

I don't believe any of the various GS ports have tried to explain away contradictions like that.

SuperNeko64, we're not strict on thread necromancy. You had a relevant addition to the topic, nothing to be ashamed of.
