A new stage play is scheduled for May, about a year after Turnabout Gold Medal. Takumi once again supervised the play. Dates and location can be found on the official site: https://gyakuten-stage.com/ Phoenix finds himself awakening in a parallel world, where Edgeworth is an attorney for an entertainment agency, Franziska is a perfect idol, Larry is a host who's being financially supported by Oldbag and Maya is a fortune teller who can see one's previous lives. There's a serial killer on the loose in this parallel world, and the suspect who got arrested is this world's Phoenix (Naruhodo Ryuichi, though "Ryuichi" is written differently in Japanese). Parallel!Maya hires our Phoenix to help the Parallel!Phoenix, and slowly falls in love with Our!Phoenix... Recurring characters include Phoenix, Maya, Edgeworth, Franziska, Larry, Gumshoe, Oldbag, Godot, Adrian Andrews, Furio Tigre, Frank Sahwit, Redd White, Shelly de Killer, the judge and Sakura Himegami (from the previous play, Turnabout Gold Medal). |

I had some doubts too when the official accounts started tweeting about them, but the fact that they mentioned all kinds of (existing) actor names, the theatre etc. immediately made it clear it was definitely the real thing. Corporate April Fools jokes in Japan are sure to never cause trouble for other parties (for example by saying "X was cast in this role" and then it turns out X had nothing at all to do with it). Heck, for that one Sherlock Hound April Fools gag for Dai Gyakuten Saiban, they even made sure to ask official permission and arrange the licensing to do the joke for that one single day (which is why they removed it later on; they had only asked for one day). |

Nope, it was announced on the day of the first. Also a minor sign it wasn't an April Fools joke by the way, most of the Japanese corporate April Fools pranks go out soon after midnight, rather than during the day. |
