I like it but to be honest, I don't like the brick border thing (it feels too cluttery) and I don't the fact that the date posted cuts into the posts... I hope it's not too late for suggestions. I coppied the screen and did some edits and such.

I was thinking we take out the brick borders, we make our online/offline button look like a part of the border and have a background behind the group icon and maybe bring up the post date.

Image Image

Oh, the brick borders look okay when looking at the topic review when replying, it's just the one's on when your just browsing a topic that bother me.

Example on how I interprete it to look like (if possible):

http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i35/A ... hanges.png

I'm sorry if I'm being rude... or over stepping my boundaries...

EDIT: and maybe a upside down "present" button rip in the center for report? I don't really know about that.

Those are some rather good suggestions. Particularly the idea to unify the two columns, It may take me a few days to implement, but I'll take my stabs at it when I get the chance.

Gasp! What happened here!? Everything is Borked!

A forum upgrade, that's what happened.

We've just left Beta5 and entered the more stable releases of phpBB3. Unfortunately in the jump from beta5 to RC1 they jumbled how templates are handled, and also apparently how uploaded avatars are handled.

People with Gallery Avatars and remotely linked Avatars should work properly.

I'll be working to finalize the transition tonight. If you notice any bugs aside from what I just mentioned please list them here. I'll do my best to tackle them after work tonight.

Phew!

I was really worried,yeah.....the quick reply is there and the buttons for the new topic and reply aren't there and it only says who was the last person to post in the sub-forum only, i.e. not the topic name aswell.

(Sorry If didn't make sense)

Yeah, topic names and some images missing. Also, it has removed the 'old style' board preference, making everything ugly for me. I checked the user control panel, but nothing there.

I noticed that the font sizes got all weird. All size 18 and 24 ones suddenly shrank. That, and they turn into underscores when posted.

That'll get fixed when the upgrade's completely finished, right?

Sounds like a couple people are having trouble uploading sigs, even under the size requirements. Did sig size restrictions get turned back on?

I've just tried to upload a sig about 150x300 and it told me that "picture dimensions could not be determined.

Also, about that date issue, is it possible to introduce a margin at the top of posts so the poster's text starts a couple of lines below the date? That would avoid the text and date running into each other.

Yeah, and I think there may be something wrong with the centered text tags, since I've seen my banner get moved to the left on some posts. That seems to have been fixed now, though...

I liked it when all we had to do to 'Mark as Read' was press the badge, on the old forums. I don't like our new way.

Another thing I've noticed: When you click on "View New Posts" and it shows a new reply in a thread, neither the user who posted the new reply, nor their post, shows up on the actual thread. :|

Same thing happened to me. That's the one where this HUGE Mitsurugi pops up on the forum banner, right?

So I take it the forum upgrade thingy is the reason there is a big space between the sig line and the sig picture?
Seriously, it is about...

Like that on like veryohter sig-like mine, Croik, Ultimate Prosicuter, MIkker....but only with images-text is unaffected.
I'll see if I can get a screeny to show.

EDIT:Image
See? I screen'd a couple. The top two are mine, obviously, then croik, then yuu-chan. As you can see, not only does the size of space differ between people, but also the space chnages jusst period. those were all from teh same topic, BTW.

it has to deal with the PM/Edit Bar at the bottom of each post, there's no CSS code to anchor to the bottom of an element so I had to cheat and do some guesswork to force the element to expand if the post/sig content were shorter then a particular threshold.

I'll see what I can do to clean it up.

The forum zoom problem's getting a bit out of hand. It happened to me more than ten times already today. So, what causes this? The forums get all big and Mitsurugi shows up on the banner. Does it have anything to do with this code or something?

[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /includes/acm/acm_file.php on line 255: file_get_contents(./cache/sql_46cd1e91fc5a045b30b292a833910db8.php) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory

RE: Male or Female?

There are a few awkward moments arising where people think other people are a different gender to what they really are... You with me?

Well, I, and others agree that the forum needs a tag, either on profile page or under the 'Custom Title' part on the user's post ID area stating the gender of the user.

This could be done in a few ways. It could be just the words "male" or "female" or maybe a small icon of the gender signs, ♀/♂

This would be helpful, thank you.

I agree with Ultimate Prosecutor. If it isn't too much trouble to ask for Forum Gender Tags, it would be nice if we had them around to avoid confusion and ambiguity and stuff.

Also, are you going to fix the font size error soon? It's really starting to bug me.

And about the gender tags, why don't we have it optional? I kinda like the "What is HH's gender" game.

Seconded.

I've seen some members post with enlarged fonts and it works fine for them, but whenever I try it, the text is still small and illegible. Is this some sort of region-specific forum problem or something, Wooster?

EDIT: Ignore that last question. Figured it out.

If the Gender thingy happens lets put it as an option in the control Panel for it to be optional?

Maybe next to the !!!! or the attorney badge?

And the icons could be :maya: and :phoenix: ?

Ok,enough rambling from me....

I've been getting 'em for, like, three hours in a row every other day.

And Gender icons would indeed prove useful. People keep assuming I'm female just 'cuz of my avvy.... -_-;;

I agree with gender icons!

Oh, i suggested them.

Now, where do I start?

› Every thread page now breaks the barriers of the screen meaning a bottom scroll bar. That never used to happen. And I have a 1280px 19inch screen, so it's not that.

› Where have the page numbers gone from the TOP of the page in threads? They used to be there, I'm sure they did. It's annoying and take my hand muscles precious effort to scroll to the bottom of the page. My hands are not amused XD!

Wooster: I noticed this line whenever the text zooms. At the top of the page.

the "Posted: Day Month Date, Year Hour:Time" thing is quite annoying. It is moved into the post itself, which prevents the text from using up all the space. Means that the writing is squashed. Couldn't this be moved into the upper area?
