Got a suggestion for the Main Site? Post it here!

Anyways, post any suggestions you have for the main site of C-R now that it's back up. It can be about any part of it, but please, keep it non-insulting (Don't post anything that is insulting as in "Grow up" or like "Lose weight" or anything that doesn't have anything to do with the main site itself!)

Ok, let's start:

First off, the simplest thing would be probably GK2 updates. That's one of the biggest ones, because it's the newest one out there! There should probably be the safe sprites section, and take out the GK1 safe sprites section, since I'm sure people have finished it, and just in case, put "WARNING: These sprites contain spoilers!" in case anyone hasn't finished it yet. For the updates, theres a bunch of stuff on the backup forums that contain sprites, music, etc for GK2.

Maybe a way to post in the fan works section, but instead of making it automatically post, it directs the post to the email of whoever you contact to get it added with their post, and it will tell them it will be reviewed before posting, so that then it makes it a whole lot easier for users and admins as well! Maybe also for the contradictions, but that could also be made in a topic here.

My last one would be an Apollo Justice Walkthrough, GK walkthrough, and GK2 walkthrough. The GK2 walkthrough is found on the old forums site, and the Apollo Justice Walkthrough is here: http://faqs.ign.com/objects/827/827856.html. AAI Miles Edgeworth Walkthrough: http://faqs.ign.com/articles/116/1167005p1.html A GK2 Walkthrough (Case 5 is incomplete in this one) found on IGN: http://faqs.ign.com/articles/115/1153597p1.html

So I just made the walkthroughs really, really simple and saving a lot of googling.

So that's basically what this topic is about.

Croik and I are still getting our sea legs. But AAI2 updates are coming eventually. (Though maybe not before a new banner?)

Posting in the Fan works section is an... interesting suggestion, even if I wasn't able to comprehend a word of the suggestion after the first comma.

As for walkthroughs, I guess we need people to submit them.

Sorry I didn't explain it as good. So basically what I'm thinking is that they click something and it goes to an input similar to the post a reply in the CR forums, then what happens is, when they click submit, instead of posting it, it will email the message to you or Croik (or both) and if you approve of it, you can add it in.

I can also add the walkthroughs, since I just finished a community college course of HTML and can do stuff like CSS, Frame sets, input types, y'know, cool stuff. I can't do everything in HTML though, like making games in HTML, but I still know some basic stuff in it, so if you need an extra updater, I am free to do that, and I can definitely update a lot faster, since it's summer and I got until August then I'm in sophomore year of college.

Edit: I can also add GK2 stuff if you want, but I need to be provided with information for character profiles, but I can get that part done for you if you want also.

Edit2: I also use Adobe Photoshop and took a high school course on it for my freshman year of high school, so I can may be able to make a new graphic for the page, I just need to know what to add. It depends on what it is, though. I can do really cool things too.
Heres a cool one I did recently for a title screen for a game I was making:

I'm taking off for work in a few minutes so I cannot reply to everything just yet...

But as for your photoshop graphic.. the sun burst in the background looks interesting. That's not something currently in my skill set.

But as for the characters, if I might give you some free advice, the Magic Wand tool is near useless for anything but sprites in my view. It's a million times more tedious, but using the pen tool to extract the characters is much more rewarding in the end.

Can you tell whichever mod is banning me to stop? I had that account for before the backups and they said I didn't read hte ban notice on the last account.

First things first, I apologize ahead of time for minimodding, but:

A different username and a forum switchover does not absolve you of your ban. How your behavior as "iObject" will be affect things I don't know and isn't for me to decide.

But that's the thing. He banned my Narutorox123456 which was not banned before the switchover to backup forums, it just happened to linger here and I found it.

He may be allowed to ban iObject, but he can't ban an account that wasn't banned on the main forums before the backups. the only place I was banned was the backup forums, nowhere else (until today).
So really that ban on Narutorox123456 was unwarranted and unneeded. As of now, I request an unban of that account or at least not having this one banned, since that last ban was unjust, and probably was a mistake on their part for not knowing it was not banned before the backups came.
And it says you guys are lenient, however I got permabanned twice with no temp-ban whatsoever. In my time of CR I have never gotten a temp ban, just a perma ban for iObject and Narutorox123456.

Okay, we're reading it differently: I read it as "if you were banned before we came back to this forum, you're still banned"; you're reading it as "if you were banned before we went to the old forum, you're still banned." Personally I think my reading is correct (after all, it's still C-R forums, just on a different host), but that's up to Nose and the other mods to decide.

This isn't really the topic for this, by the way.

This is more of a forum suggestion as opposed to a 'main site' suggestion, but like, hear it out.

You've probably noticed the wave of new threads in the Press conference section all with the same general theme 'Hi, I'm from the backup forum, making me technically new' or 'this feels really nostalgic, hi' sorts of threads

Could we not just have a communal sticky thread in the Press conference section of something where everyone can post their 'I'm new to the 'old forums'' messages.

Otherwise we'll end up with like 200 or so new meaningless threads with 4 posts in or so in the space of like a week...

At least in a communal thread everyone can basically say all their 'welcome back' messages to each other in one quick post, as opposed to posting the same message over several threads...

Just a thought.....

Oh wow, never thought of that. Good idea!

I think maybe the CR Main site's look could be changed a little (not the news page, but the media, characters, fanworks, etc) because most of that looks different than the main page, including that they have been like that before the main site and forums were shut down for updates.

If this is for the main site, isn't this thread already serving the purpose for main site suggestions and what not or am I wrong?
On April 3, 2016, Court Records Forums experienced a miracle upon that day.

The main page looks different then the rest of the main site, because the main page was the only page that was scripted, thus I could do more complicated thing in terms of layout. The rest of the site is powered by html files generated by Frontpage or whatever editor Croik's currently using. I couldn't do much more then what you saw to keep the pages consistent while being WYSISYG generated.

Also, for some reason, your web chat at the top of the fourms page keeps giving me a php error:
Quote:
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /webirc.php on line 33: file_put_contents(secret.mibbitlog.log) [function.file-put-contents]: failed to open stream: Permission denied

Is this issue known to the admins and mods?

I don't know if the chat was broken before the downtime, but as it seems to be hosted on the forums.court-records.net server, it's not surprising it's not yet fixed. I don't recall it being tremendously active, though, and there's the C-R Skype room these days.

Also, I think dullahan has the right of it; there's that stickied topic for suggestions; it's probably best to use that from now on. :yuusaku:
