Capcom higher-up Christian Svensson stirs the Ace Attorney rumors cauldron once again by answering some questions on Capcom-Unity. When asked the question if we'll see an Ace Attorney collection for the 3DS in case AA5 does well, Sven replied with the following:

I doubt that it would need improved graphics. Maybe slightly extended backgrounds. Then again, they could just add a decorated border and call it a day.

They could pretty much use the HD123 visuals, maybe add some 3D elements to them and BAM, there's a collection.

This would probably cost as much if not more than a new AA 3DS game, just because of all the work involved. Also I would miss the original look of the games, but it's still a cool idea.

While the whole "fake" 3D with the sprites in front of the backgrounds could work, I've always thought it would look a little strange. I would think if they ever do a 3DS release of the games it would be an eShop 2D release rather than something that will make them have to spend a bit of money to produce.

I'd love it if a collection happened, though.

On a side note, For a while it was really hard to get copies of the originals (making a collection an amazing idea), although in the last 6 months or so Capcom must have reissued them because new copies of JFA and T&T used to go for about $70 new on Amazon and I got them last month for $40 and $30 respectively. They're in the new, eco-friendly cases and I can tell from the cartridge box and manual that they are not fakes. (For the record these are the USA releases). So maybe Capcom reissued them at some point in the last few years?
