I hope it's ok that I'm making this thread. :lana:

Comic-Con began tonight, and the first place I dropped by was the Capcom booth. They had a small wall dedicated to DS games, and smack dab in the center of it was the English translation of T&T. I didn't play it (I'm desperately trying to keep away from any huge spoilers), but I saw others messing around with the game. I was thrilled to see on the opposite of the wall was a huge painting of the main cast of T&T; Godot looked especially wicked. There were other games painted next to it, but who cares about those....

There wasn't much there related to the game in terms of merchandise and items, unforunately, save for a free postcard-like pamphlets featuring the cover of T&T (I managed to grab a handful). The back of said postcard lists the release date as... *drumroll* October 23, 2007. :edgeworth: I can scan if if you guys want me to, front and back.

It looks like there are two PW-related events this weekend: Matsukawa will drop by Comic-Con on Saturday, as announced in the news, but he will also be there on Friday:

If I make it to either event, I'll try to get pictures, but I have naught but a crappy disposable camera on hand, so we'll see if that works out. :sadshoe:

I'd really like a scan of that postcard, if you don't mind. There's been so much hoopla around the release date, anything official would be a great help.

And Matsukawa is a woman :larry2:

Y'know, somewhere deep inside my head, I knew that. Exhaustion = gender confusion? *headdesk*

Here're both sides of the card. You can put them on the site if you want, but I think it's mostly redundant art (the front, anyway).

No, Croik said that Capcom are insisting that it's still on track for September.

And that scanned postcard is fairly decisive evidence, no?

Oh snap, I do not hear such a truth!

...Yeah, it's probably October now. I'd trust something that's printed for a big convention.

Well, they had better make damn good use of this extra month...better box and case art then JFA, anyway. ...I'm mad. I've got my countdown calendars in my room and everything...might as well add another 30 days to them. :chinami:

Hmm, It obviously can't be localization, otherwise Japan would get a delay too.

I'm hoping the delay has something to do with our unannounced (and better be there) pre-order goodies.

Besides, if I get JFA this month... I'll have some extra months to complete it before TAT's release date.

This is probably old news by now, but I played a bit of the demo..

Kikuzou Nonda is Doug Swallows (Yes, I laughed like an immature idiot) and Chinami Miyanagi is Dahlia Hawthorne.

I also saw a Lana cosplayer, an Ema cosplayer, met some fellow fans, and got a PW3 poster and my Ace Attorney game case signed by the producer of the series. :gant:

That is a weird name although I'm wondering why they chose Hawthorne for Dahlia's last name.

I broke down and played a bit of the demo as well, and then I left and came back to watch some other people finish it. It looks like you can only get through part of the first trial, and then a trailer for T&T comes up hinting towards what happens next in the game. Then the demo simply resets to the beginning of the trial. I don't know what that says about the status of the actual game....

I dropped by Capcom during the autographing session. I'd brought my PW:JfA game booklet to be signed, but I decided against it after I learned they were handing out free signed posters (I figured one signed item was enough to geek out over). Matsukawa was very nice when I approached her and she thanked me for my interest in the game (and I thanked her in turn... for everything, really), and now I have a shiny new poster. :edgy:

Swallows kind of makes sense, since it would be a reference to (case spoilers) just like his Japanese name. Though admittedly I giggled, too >.>

I played the T&T demo and it ends after the first cross examination. It ends kind of like the GS4 demo with the characters saying "What will Mia do next?". I think Dahlia calls Phoenix "Feenie".

Plus the music is remastered, much better than the terrible GS3 renditions on the encyclopedia. Although the area was waaaay too loud to really hear it.

I better get ready for the cosplay contest in a few hours... I decided to wear my normal clothes yesterday along with my Hobohodo beanie and 5 people asked me where I got it. :hobohodo:

Hawthorne = Have Thornes.

That's Dahlia, alright. :that-b-word:

Also looks like Hawt One, which is also Dahlia :P

"Looks like a flower, but she stings like a bee...

just like that girl, Chinami..."

Really, they should've named him William instead of Dogh.

Seems T&T isn't the only PW news coming out of Comic-Con.
Del Rey has picked up the Gyakuten Saiban manga for release here starting in January 2008.

As for the Cosplay Contest.

I think it was less than 20 people since Capcom barely announced the contest a week before the con. The winners were..

1. Phoenix Wright
2. Ema Skye
3. A tie between current and young edgeworth

I personally think one of the other Phoenix's should have won since the winner's suit wasn't even the correct color (maybe Matsukawa chose it for being different). I'm surprised the Lana cosplayer didn't win something and if anyone came as Fransizka, that person would have swept the contest entirely.

Another awesome thing was that everyone who entered got a prize ranging from the Odoroki headphones, figures, pins, etc. I ended up getting another pair of Odoroki headphones signed by Matsukawa herself. We ended up having the share space with the Street Fighter and Resident Evil cosplayers, but it was fun and I hope people post their pictures soon.

Matsukawa even referred to my Hobo Phoenix costume as "Hobohodo" so it's pretty much an official term :)
