The British website Metro published a preview/interview article on their site regarding Dual Destinies. It's over a month old (as of this writing), but it hasn't been reported by Court Records. The interview goes over a lot of what we already know, but the most interesting tidbit is a question regarding localization plans of Gyakuten Kenji 2 and Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney.

Quote:
I am sorry but that’s a little bit difficult to say right now. But we are thinking about it.

It's a pretty vague answer, and is by no means a confirmation of anything, but at least we know that they're still considering it.

The article can be read here.

It seems to be everyday that I see a post about possible bringing GK2 to the west but then it turns out to be "we're thinking about it".

Can we just...I don't want to say give up but I don't know, man. I don't see it coming anytime soon. At least they're "thinking about it". Ace Attorney is very popular in Japan but would it sell internationally? I don't know why, but I have the impression that the other games didn't sell quite as well. Maybe I'm wrong?

Either way, if they're bringing it, digital release is the best way to go. Maybe it's not coming soon because the localisation team for GK is working on GS5? I mean, if it's the GK team in Japan making GS5 maybe the localisation follows the same process?

I'll stop rhetorically asking you guys stuff, I gotta bounce. See-ya

But in all honesty, META humour sucks.

I'd rather hear stuff like this than hear that there's no plans at all. At least there's a small glimmer of hope. Interesting news, there.

I see what you're coming from, but it's actually a HUGE step forward from the "there are no plans" we would always get when it came to GK2, the fact that they are aware and are considering a localization is a big win, not a huge or ultimate win, or a guarantee that we'll get it, but it means they hear the fans and that a localization is now actually possible.

Hmmm... I don't mean to be a Negative Nancy, but I disagree. thinking about it =/= there are plans, and there are no plans =/= not thinking about it.

Might be slightly different phrasing than Sven used to give, but it seems like the same ol' non-committal answer to me.
