I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I figured I should share what I found.

This article says Capcom is running out of money (which people attribute to their shoddy DLC practices) and their solution is to focus more heavily on getting DLC out.

What do you all think of this? If Capcom kicks the bucket, what would happen to Ace Attorney?

I actually was reading through other message forums regarding this topic and on Gamefaqs, a user named Eoin posted this:

Quote:
This story has been badly taken out of context. Someone has looked at a single figure, for one year, pretended that it represented Capcom's entire resources, and added a comment from Capcom saying that they wanted to concentrate more on DLC, and presented it as a story about Capcom being in trouble.
Let's contextualise:
this is the second highest amount of cash Capcom have had in the bank at th end of any reporting year since 2003
Capcom have had negative balances of about the same amount. The idea that Capcom run out of resources if they hit zero is totally ludicrous
Checking cash and cash equivalents (and please note: this is a figure that is clearly visible in Capcom's financials, unavoidable by anyone making any serious study of it) shows that it's a figure that's been fairly stable for the past decade
 Capcom's sales are up
Capcom's net income is down slightly but they're profitable and have been consistently profitable since 2005
To help make the scale of this scare story clear, I put a few figures from Capcom's reports into a spreadsheet and graphed them over time. You can see
them here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... IRXc#gid=0
Figures are in millions of Yen and are from Capcom's 11 year summary of annual reports, here:
http://www.capcom.co.jp/ir/english/data ... 013_03.pdf

Don't know for sure if he is right or not but either way, I don't think Capcom's in serious trouble right now since Monster Hunter 4 just came out in Japan.

If this article is reliable, I won't expose my thoughts on this matter here for plenty of reasons.

But it still sounds strange to me. Capcom wouldn't break like this without a good reason.
