So recently, the redesign team hit a snag on one front (don't worry, we've got plenty of other things to do, so it's not as if we're going to just be twiddling our thumbs until this problem is solved): how are we going to categorize the characters so that users visiting the site can easily find the profile they're looking for? We've got some ideas, but we also wanted to see what users come up with, considering that ease of access is what we're aiming for. What we'd like to see is what groups you'd make for the characters and where you'd put each one. You're not obligated to include every character; we just need a sense of how you'd organize them.

I don't know about others but organizing them by whatever game they originate in works best for me.

Yeah, that makes sense. There could also be a separate section for main characters too, I suppose.

Yeah, by game. Maybe subcategories in addition to that:

Protagonists
Antagonists
Witnesses
Side Characters
Supporting Characters

Tvtropes actually has a good example of the characters being categorized like proposed above. So basically the defense attorneys, assistants, prosecutors etc get a page dedicated to them divided in sub categories, and the witnesses get divided on different pages depending on the game they're from.
