Said image was also posted today on the official Ace Attorney Twitter account. I avoided seeing it on the website as warned, but...

I'm sure whatever it seems to imply won't ruin the game though. Seems like just one detail.

I know, but it isn't really a spoiler. I could actually say that the launch trailer for the Japanese version had huge spoilers in it, but you would only know this if you have already played the game. Same goes with this case.

I'd say more on the derpy side, but he does have his very strict moments of judgment, and punishment is usually death, so...

I'm pretty convinced it's the same guy as always who somehow ended up there and dressed up in some nice robes. Gotta love that gavel-in-hand animation.
