Ace Attorney anime to air on Crunchyroll

No joking here - the Ace Attorney anime has been officially picked up by Crunchyroll and will be available to watch outside of Asia there!
The show will air at 4 AM PST on Saturdays, starting tomorrow, April 2nd.
We'll have a master post about the anime going up later tonight!

)Crunchyroll list simulcast's as part of their premium sub benefits, so I suspect the answer to this is yes. I seem to recall with bleach years ago they let people on non-premium watch but be several weeks behind.
In other words I've just renewed my premium sub for the first time in ages.

Description here seems to suggest that they'll be using translations of the Japanese character names and such, rather than attempting to mold the story into the Japanifornia localization. Fair enough. Hopefully my brain doesn't rebel against it.

)You'll definitely need the subscription if you want to watch the episodes as soon as they come out. Possible that the episodes will gradually find their way to the ad-supported free version but I'm not sure about the schedule or the limitations on that.
(Edit: I see I was beaten to this answer but I'll leave it)
(Edit again: Looking at the release calendar, which Ace Attorney hasn't been added to yet, it seems like free episodes trail just one week behind their release on the premium service, so if you're patient you may not need to pay to watch. Probably still worth subscribing if you're excited about seeing the show right away though)

I realize Crunchyroll has more shows, but I'm one of those 'weirdos' who prefer dubs to subs, though I'll still gladly watch the latter 
All the same, this is one of those shows I can't bring myself to wait on... so yeah, I think I'll grab a subscription. At least until the thing's finished anyway

Note that simulcast shows on Crunchyroll usually don't air at the same time. Only on the same day. I think they're usually put online right after the Japanese broadcast is over. Might have to do with the fact that the English subs are based on the Japanese subtitle track (I remember CR's Lupin The Third, Part 4 had one name constantly translated the wrong way, because the translator obviously only had the subtitle track to work with, without being able to check with the audio).

As far as I know, CR never has secured Asian rights, because a lot of the countries have their own distribution lines for anime ('normal' TV channels, premium channels etc).

Not in the Philippines, we don't. :( Most anime aired here are old-school, or at least early 2000s. Not much variety, actually. Maybe Animax Asia, but I don think they're showing new shows, either. I mean, we on the board would all know about it if they picked up AA.

This. Coupled with really bad internet, it's how I watch any anime at all. Better than none, I guess.
Guess I'll wait for now. I hope someone uploads it somewhere.
At least I can actually buy the games themselves. If those were region-locked , as well...
