Post subject:  We need proper release dates, Capcom!
According to Nintendo UK Apollo Justice is slated to come out in March 2008. The website doesn't seem to mention Trials and Tribulations at all.

Over at Nintendo US AJ doesn't show up anywhere.

In their Gamer's Day announcement, Capcom said that AJ would be coming out in America in "Early 2008." Then Nintendo Power magazine reported it would be February 2008.

Meanwhile, Capcom Europe doesn't seem to have either T&T or AJ up yet.

So in theory, it goes:

Feb 2008: AJ released in America
March 2008: AJ released in Europe
?????: T&T released in Europe.

Hopefully, we'll get some news soon that'll clear this all up.

Oh man, I hope we will get an ACTUAL OFFICIAL STATEMENT from CAPCOM soon. Both Capcom Europe and Capcom US.

Nintendo Germany has T&T in his list, but a very vague release date. It just says 2008.

I've always thought that Ace Attorney: Phoenix Wright sounded way more awesome.

It doesn't seem to work with Apollo Justice...

...I'm so glad I'm too impaticent (Sp?) and imported T&T from the US.

One day I might actually move there.... because you don't get this stupidity and you STILL get more games then over here.

EXAMPLE:

Tales of The Abyss. I am STILL bitter about that.
HM: Magic Melody. Though I can get a freeloader to deal with that. *sigh*

I will never get why they take so much longer to release them over here. I mean, they don't change it to British-English, and if they have decided it's worth releasing... why do they have to have such a huge gap?!

Still, if February is correct for an English version, I may die of joy =D It's so much sooner than I expected~!

In Europe, don't they have other languages to translate it to, like German, Spanish, Italian, etc.? I noticed in Kirby and the Amazing Mirror (EUR) that you could select other languages to play the game.

Mine certainly does not. But I'm from Canada. I doubt there's a difference between US T&T and Canada T&T, though.

No, they don't. The American AA games only have English.

Yes, Capcom, release dates would be good :[ Even official release windows would be nice, but all we have are reports from other sources. Awesome.

This is generally confusing... not that it would make Apollo Justice difficult to understand if you didn't have T&T in Europe, it makes little sense to skip it, also... o_o

Not to sound naïve, but... you didn't get Tales of the Abyss there? >.> For a while I was of the belief that most games released in the US made it to Europe unless those games either sucked or sold poorly. Thinking about it... although I loved TotA, it sold poorly in the US. v_v But Trials and Tribulations sold okay... well, actually, I never checked the sales numbers. But I guess it's good you're impatient and bought an import. ^^; I would like to know what logic they go by on some of these releases, though...

T&T is "2008" according to NOE, and - going by JFA, I wouldn't be suprised if it's january/february.

Then we's get Apollo in mid-late march, most probably.

They go straight from JFA to AJ.. It's just plain wierd.

i'm getting my AJ from America though. I don't want to wait any longer then I have to.

Like JFA and AA, the games needs to be translated into several languages before release in Europe. And there's no sign of translations on T&T yet. But... If I recall right, the French and German translations of JFA were shown for the first time in screeenshots shortly before the game was released in Europe, and the release dates were revealed in the same time period. They might do this with T&T as well.

AA4 hasn't been released in N. America, yet they have released a French and German trailer plus screenshots, meaning they are working on the translations already. This means the time gap between the release of AA4 in America and Europe might be really short. I guess the German & French translators of AA4 are the same as JFA's. However, it's possible they could be working on two projects at the same time. Meaning, they might be working working on translating T&T, but unlike AA4, they will release info and release date of it shortly before the translation is is complete, like they did with JFA.

Skipping T&T would be just too darn unfair. If the translations aren't being made, then release the game at least in the U.K, Scandinavia and other places where they do fine with only English.

We could but then we'd have to play tax for shipping. :megaphone: And, I for one, don't want to have to do that.

As for why it takes so long for european release, apart from the language translation issue, I'd guess NOE proof-read the game text and alter some of the text to fix typos/make it a bit more believable. Such as *cough*wellingtonseyesight*cough*. But I don't want to open that can of worms up again so I'll leave it there.

Yes and I have done that. I preordered the Japanese version of T&T and I will preorder the USA version of AJ:AA.

Not if you order them from the right place. :godot: I had to pay absolutely NO taxes at all when I ordered T&T from Play-Asia. I love that place.

Well, this is nothing new, Detective. Europe has always been the forgotten continent when talking about the three major video game selling areas (Japan, America, Europe). Sony even went and pulled back the release dates of PS3 here to spring (last year of course) and even said that Europeans are used to wait for things. And then they went and decided to give us a crappier version with only a few hundred games that works in the backwards technology function in PS3! And now the only version of PS3 we got is the cheap ripped one.

That's not the only example...

GameFAQs stated Ace Attorney Apollo Justice is coming out in the US Feb 19, 2008. Unfortunately Europe still has TBA next to it.

The European market is not important to video game companies as it is tiny compared to the US/Asia markets. That's not going to change so just get used to it.

Get T&T from Play Asia. It's cheapter to buy it there in dollars and pay for shipping than it will be to buy a UK version from your local gaming shop. It cost me well under £30 when I ordered it. And don't bother feeling guilty about "oh well they won't release if here if the Euro version doesn't sell" because THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT EUROPE anyway and are just as likely to not put a game on the market because the wind changed or something. Seriously.
