Just 7 days... anyone else going to attempt to download it at midnight?

I don't have any eShop funds at the moment, and my 3DS XL hasn't even arrived in the mail yet. I have some points on my Wii U. If I use the same Nintendo Network account on my 3DS, does that mean I can still use those points?

Nope. There's no network account on the 3DS.

Man, that sucks. Nintendo should be like Apple where everything is universal. That's just big game companies forcing you to buy the same digital games twice even if you're in the same family. :yuusaku:

I have no idea how they'll be able to fix this. It'd have to be some kind of update that allows you to transfer over your purchases. The closest thing we have is Club Nintendo, but that's unreliable. Where did you hear that they'd do something about it?

Well, at the very least I heard they were going to port Miiverse over to the 3DS (and mobile). Maybe they'll do other things like accounts too, which could also be why it's taking so long. There'd definitely be a system update for sure.

Miiverse has nothing to do with downloading games. That doesn't prove that there will ever be an account system. In fact, for what reason should Nintendo change their policies? People obviously still download games regardless of an account system, so there's no reason for them to alter anything.

I suppose, although having an account on Miiverse but no account for your downloaded games would definitely confuse some people. Unless Miiverse on the 3DS won't use the same account system as the WiiU, which would be odd, and make it a bit annoying for people with both a WiiU and 3DS.

Also, there are a bunch of people who are wary of downloaded games on the 3DS because of the lack of an account, even though there technically is one unique to every 3DS that has connected to the eShop.

I highly doubt that Nintendo would use the same account. Like I already said, they're a big company that have no reason to change since they still make money anyways.

So what if there are a few people? Nintendo doesn't care. Unless NO ONE buys digital games, there's no point in them adding an account system.

I'm not sure why you're arguing so adamantly about this. I just said it was a possibility, not a guarantee.

I'm not arguing about anything. What I am doing is saying that there IS NO possibility because it doesn't look likely at all. When you said that they were planning something, I thought you meant that Nintendo had actually said that they were going to introduce an account system.

Every 3DS has it's own "account"; I talked to a Nintendo Representative about this in the summer and he said that basically every 3DS shops on the eShop with a unique "account" - you don't see it, and you don't log into it or anything, but it's there. Nintendo seems to have a record of everything that the account downloaded (they read me a list of games I downloaded which included things I downloaded before I joined Club Nintendo). So in theory, if they do introduce an account system they could easily just connect your "new nintendo connected account" to your "hidden" 3DS account as well as your Club Nintendo account.

Hay guys, I know none of yall know me, I have been pretty absent from the community, which sucks because all of you guys are amazing people.

I just want to say that whilst I don't post, I am always lurking, reading the awesome posts you guys make, and I just want to say that this is an amazing experience.

I have not been a huge fan of ace attorney for too long, only about 2 years, so this is the first time I get too experience this, and it's been such a fun ride guys :)

Ever since September 23rd (which is my birthday XD) when the first trailer was realsed (I think it was the 23rd) to only 2 days left until we get our hands on this awesome game.

I hope to be more active around here, but I am currently busy with some other projects and it eats my time away, but I'll do my best ^^

Thank you all so much, and thanks to the admins/mods that keep this place running, it means a lot =D

I unfortunatly won't be able to purchase it until early November, but that's ok because I'd be waiting to play it until the DLC comes out anyway and I'm still on Gyakuten Kenji 2 on my Marathon. Still got the manga and Apollo Justice to go.

Still, I'm so excited it's coming out!

I've had $50 loaded on the eshop since August waiting for this to happen. It's been such a long time since we've had a main series game (heck, AJ came out when I was in 8th grade), and that was about 5 years ago wasn't it?

It's good to see the series finally come back to us in the states.

I think I'll probably have to wait till Christmas. :sadshoe: Still, it is nice to hear about it coming out.

It will be release on 12 pm EST right? I remember seeing RF 4 available on that time? If so, I will probably download it on morning of the 25th since 12 pm EST is 12 am October 25th in my country. Wish they do a midnight release though. DX So I could download it earlier.

You mean midnight? Probably not, I read over on NeoGAF that Nintendo only does midnight eShop releases for first-party games.

Speaking of which, someone there made these handy countdown images that have the time when it's probably available to download.

She said 12 PM EST, as in 12 noon. That, too my knowledge, is when third party games get updated. (Which means for me it's 9:00 AM here on the West Coast)

It depends on the state you have chosen in the eShop or in your 3DS system settings (probably the former). For example, it seems that Virginia has no tax, but New York has whatever sales tax is on normal products. Some states, like New York, require online stores to collect tax, others don't.

I suggest going in to purchase something else on the eShop, look to see if tax is charged, then back out. You always get to see how much the game costs, how much tax is being charged, and the download size before confirming a purchase.

Has anyone else seen that really strange misleading image that the official Ace Attorney Facebook page has posted.

It asks says "The countdown is on.. Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies is out tomorrow! Which character are you most looking forward to seeing in action?"

Then proceeds to
Spoiler: Returning Characters in DD
Show art from like every english box art ever. From left to right:
Phoenix Wright (DD Box), Athena Cykes (DD Box), Apollo Justice (DD Box), Miles Edgeworth (JFA Box), Franziska Von Karma (JFA Box), Pearl Fey (JFA Box), Simon Blackuill (DD Box), Young Mia Fey (T&T Box), Godot (T&T Box), Maya Fey (T&T Box), Detective Dick Gumshoe (AAI Box), Kay Faraday (AAI Box), Shi-Long Lang (AAI Box), Klavier Gavin (AJ Box), Trucy Wright (AJ Box), Kristoph Gavin (AJ Box)

1. Why the hell are they putting all of these characters who don't appear in the game there, next to the DD logo and misleading text about the characters?

2. Edgeworth, Pearl, Klavier, and Trucy do appear in this game and have new Box Art, so why are they using the AJ art?

If their plan was to mislead people into thinking that all of these characters were in the game, they've succeeded based on the comments.

The cynical old man part of me can't help but think that it's a great way for Capcom to sell a couple more copies of DD...

But the logical part of me would think the PR backlash wouldn't be worth it. Still, I can't believe whoever runs that page didn't think about how to phrase that better, like "Who's your favorite character?" or "Who would you like to see back for a future installment?"
